Hardcore enemies

Discuss hardcore enemies you have encountered in DF here!

I was fighting a hammerman and I had crushed 6 of his bones, severed his (middle) spine and ripped off his right hand, yet he had NO pain and stayed alive for a while.

He probably didn't feel pain because of severed middle spine  :P

The severed spine was one of the last things I did. He didn't feel pain before the middle spine severing, either.

A boss axeman, fainted after I broke his toe with a kick, then "survived" (for 1 turn) the loss of all 4 limbs at the joint...

A female bandit by the name of Rope Necrostyles. I sliced off both her arms and she escaped (because the camp was in a blizzard where the thick fog made it impossible to see). I wait a bit and come back to the site, and Rope, armless, murders three of my companions under the cover of fog. When I finally catch up, I lop off one of her shoulders, and she escapes yet again. Never saw her again after that for some reason (but she's definately alive, because I never got quest cred).

Ah, yes, I thought something was amiss. Now I see. There's not enough terrible things in the lakes.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

"Oh yeah I am going to mess this night creature up SO bad!"

Later that day after entering generic night creature house.

"OH shit oh fuck my sword is bruising his fat he's latched onto my arm oh shit motor nerve damage in the leg oh shit!"

I soon learned the importance of aiming attacks and training skills before taking quests.

A god damned minotaur.
He tore some rather experienced companions to shreds like they were made of steam, and could very well have won had his luck kept up after I stepped in. Managed to slowly pick apart his legs and arms, he eventually just bled to death, but I absolutely could not land any one fatal hit.
Half our forces were dead, and everyone left was injured.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

I didn't make a screen when he was throwing elephants but I made a screen when he kills one by punching it in head.

Got ambushed by  3 goblins. 2 of them wore uranium armor (bronze actualy) by halberts attacks got deflected every time, no matter i stab or slash. I slashed both upper arms off one of them, and he ran away(?). The other one, i hacked his legs to shit, but he was still standing. Then i took his left arm, and he landed lucky hit, which gave me extreme pain, and started fleeing. As i was stumbling and falling down unconcious, i saw that armless goblin, run in out of no where kick my head off.

These were THE most hardcore goblins ever.
