I'm excited to see this on steam too except  that I hope the devs haven't bit off more than they can chew in terms of expectations.. expectations from even just us who bought it from the alpha bundle seem just sufficient to handle in terms of progress (pretty lax, only come back every few months), but the general steam community are vastly more incredibly harsh and demand results and progress quickly.

You can't really ask the general steam community to just 'come back every few months'.. it just won't work like that, they'll hit the 'forums' link and see all the raging and won't buy it.

Honestly things are getting to the point where I am almost inclined to believe that "Internet ettiquete" should be something taught in school.

I must say this doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I got the game as a B-day gift from a friend, and I have to say:Bravo.
I had a blast, the game is still very, very rough, but it's incredibly enjoyable. I can only hope people ignore the boneheads. There seems to be one user who is particularly obsessed with shitting up the games community page.

People really need to learn to Google shit, before throwing their money at it, if someone knew anything about the game: They would know its not finished. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few legitimate complaints, but it seems the complainers seem to fall into three categories:

People with legitimate complaints(There should be some indication the game is playable, but not really "finished")
People who saw the people with legitimate complaints, and realized they could have a nice crusade against the game.
People who can't read, and as a result, can't play the game.

Congratulations! You are now on Steam!

And I've totally missed the fact that I've got Towns Steam key! Thank you very much, I did not expect that :).

Anyone know when the next version is out?

I'm waiting for some more features before I have another binge. :p

I heard it won't be out until you finish a playable alpha of Maia  ;)

I would expect the next big update with new features after the holidays.

Would help if I could spend more time working on it, instead of squeezing blood from stones (marketing).

I'd like to see more life and character in the townies. They could be so much more than just worker drones.

I see, because I bought Towns on the website, then bought the indieroyale bundle including it, and accidentally activated the Towns key on Desura along with the other games. So I asked Towns support to convert my account into another key. So am I out of luck then?

You don't have to tell me. I work in digital marketing, it's tough out there right now.

It's up to IndieRoyale to give you a key, not Desura.

If you picked up Towns through the indie royale bundle, follow the link back to the downloads page that you recieved for the indie royale bundle and a Steam key is issued there.

Hmm, I tried the demo, and it crashes at random times. It also left something in memory, keeping me from deleting the folder until I restarted.

If it wasn't for the crashing, I'd be more interested.

Is there anyway to transfer the game I have on Desura to Steam? :(
