Hah, I was watching the video about crossing the river, and I gotta say, you had me there. I wasn't expecting you to go UNDER the river to cross it, haha.

Going by the $1/hr value of enjoyment? Sure.

There is a lot of rage on the forums about the notion that the game is more or less abandoned. I didn't think that was the case, but Steam forums and in fact the main forums both seem to show that is the case, or at least that communication is not a priority. Still, there is a lot of game already there and it's a unique game in it's own, without comparisons to any other title anymore.

definitely worth the purchase.

I enjoyed it, and haven't played the new version, and would say it's worth $5 for a few good games of it, but I too am wondering about the state of support for the game.

As much as I talked shit about Towns. Its certainly worth a mere 5$. I just read the Towns forums for the first time in a month or more and there is a ton of rage, even from one of the ex-community managers. But due to its status as the only game really in its genre, spending 5$ and 10-15 hours on it wouldn't be excessive even given the apparently failed state of the new jobs system. Honestly if it had been sold for 5-10$ in the first place most of the drama probably wouldn't even have happened.

Actually it would. The drama did not happen because the game is expensive, but because of the way it was released on steam. Even if it would be 5$, same thing would happen. But if there was early access back than and games was released there, than that would be totally different story.

I am really hoping we will see v15 in near, or not that near future, really like the game

So, I've seen burningpet around in a couple of the different threads, and he was last active today, as of this posting.

Combine that with something I found on his forum for Towns:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

With all the hardcore programmers on B12, and all the support that was given previously, why didn't he post that here? It went nowhere on his own forums, and he never mentioned it here at all. Towns probably wouldn't have stalled as badly (or outright died, as no one seems to be upkeeping it at the moment,) if they were really serious about canvassing for programmers.

I'm pretty sure someone was already hired, but I can't find the source at the moment.

I'm pretty sure a user on the Towns forums was in talks/and or hired by the Devs, named BluesteelAUS or something like that. He used to get into screaming fights with Muzzy about the dev progress, too, so it should be interesting to see if he can move things along.
