Greywar, the thing you ahve to understand is that the steam page for Towns has jack NOTHING to do with the developers.  They're asked for info, and steam has someone plug it into the webpage.  If the page doesnt' say the game is still in Beta, that isn't the devs fault.  It steams for lack of hindsight.  Cause I know that the greenlight page for Towns mentioned that it was still in developement.

Doesn't the developer supply the store page info though?

The dev team should probably get in touch with GiantBomb. It has a large user base and people are curious now that Towns is on Steam.

They should just mark that it is still in beat on the store page. I think most would still buy it.

Bought it based on seeing those screenshots from the Steam page and... yikes! They really need to be a ton clearer on their page about the state this thing is in.

I don't mind paying to support development but a lot of customers will and even I didn't like being given the impression of a finished game while paying for an alpha.

I will freely part with my money but the devs would have benefited from a more upfront and honest approach here. Just tell us it isn't done, the truth is a good defense in forums. The appearance of dishonesty ended up being overwhelming on Steam.

I like the concept of the game and hope they finish and polish it. Looking forward to seeing it in 6 months!

No matter who's fault it is, his point still stands.(Though it's surely not BurningPets fault, since he has been a straight shooter all the way)

I would like to point out that it comes from Green-Light and ALL Green-Light games are in development.

Well I just was surprised when I saw Towns on the Steam Homepage as it scrolled through some featured games, looking at the Graphics I must say that a lot of work has gone into them compared to when it was first presented all that time ago...
Rather impressed... May be getting it after payday...

I noticed, for people who bought the Alpha Bundle, that while the Desura-listed keys and emails still haven't gone out, if you still have your original bundle link, the Steam key is available on there already.

Already? Kind of thought we'd be the last to get it.

** wanders off to hunt through email archive for bundle link.

Yea I decided to look on a whim expecting it not to be on there since it's a relatively older bundle, but lo and behold it was available.

Nope.

Wasn't the first or one of the first Greenlight releases Postal2? Definitely hasn't been in development in the past 9 years. Also a weird choice for Greenlight.

My townsfolk seems to be mentally ill, they refuse to take food to the proper stock pile, instead they think it's a better idea to leave it there in the open or cluttering the kitchen.  Does anybody knows what is happening?

Putting things in stockpiles is a low priority task by default. Let your citizens idle for a while without other tasks or use the top menu to change the priority of stockpiles.

I'm excited to see this on steam too except  that I hope the devs haven't bit off more than they can chew in terms of expectations.. expectations from even just us who bought it from the alpha bundle seem just sufficient to handle in terms of progress (pretty lax, only come back every few months), but the general steam community are vastly more incredibly harsh and demand results and progress quickly.

You can't really ask the general steam community to just 'come back every few months'.. it just won't work like that, they'll hit the 'forums' link and see all the raging and won't buy it.

Honestly things are getting to the point where I am almost inclined to believe that "Internet ettiquete" should be something taught in school.
