It is always wiser to press forward with a Pawn then using a High Ranking piece to claim territory. Moving the Knight out gives something for the opponent to target early (Most players will force you to make another move with that Knight due to the advantage it gives them) while pressing a Pawn will open paths for your stronger pieces to have space to move. E4 gives both the queen and the white bishop a path to escape from behind their pawns. If Black does not press his King Pawn aswell, I suggest you take E5 next, this will not only give you the center but also give you a neat ability of controlling the King's Black (The colour of his square) moving then D4 will fully make the center yours and once again give you a wall on King's Black...

So E4  ;D

*I agree completely, this is my favorite opening. As it is for most chess players playing white id imagine :D I'm very rusty though, so thanks for the info!

Now that wouldn't be very fun would it.  :P

Kf3 and f4 are popular options, and apparantly the former has a slightly higher winning chance.

I'm liking F4. Whats the name of the three pawn opening again? I forget.

I move for C3. This will allow you to open another path for the Queen as well as protect your left side from a cowardly move of the bF8 from moving down to the B4, its a pressing attack which can cause a player to move something they shouldn't. C3 will cover that location. The move after that would be Queens Pawn to D4, Threatening his Pawn there.

Kf3 might be more practical but I like the look of C3. Though I'm curious about F4, maybe I'm a little short sited but wouldn't that just hand black a free pawn and control over your right flank?

It's the king's gambit. That black pawn is going to end up in a poor position and will eventually be taken assuming we play well.
