Magical Creature Take-Down Squad- The IRC RPG!

This will be an IRC RPG based off the "lore" of this thread http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=85478.0

MCTDS will be an IRC RPG, it will be a mainly skill based game. Most dice rolls will be D6, plus modifiers depending on what skills the player has. The game is currently in the brainstorming phase but I wanted to do an interest check and see if anyone had any suggestions. I'll list what I currently have.

Perks and Disadvantages
Im still kinda debating if I should have a system like this in the game, and to what extent. Current ideas for this are, Player picks from a list of 3 Perks and 3 Disadvantages, this system makes your character have small advantages. Another idea being 1 Perk and 1 Disadvantage, these bonuses are big bonuses and help your character in a big way in certain situations. Im also considering to not have them in at all.

This game will also go by how the thread pretty much allowed any kind of character, as long as it was slightly reasonable. The plot won't be as freeform but there will be choices to what plot you actually do.

Now, who here would be interested in this? And what times would you be able to play?

I would be able to play almost any time, except between 2 and 9 AM central time. Sleep, don'tcha know.

I'd say 1 perk, 1 disadvantage. And some ideas:
Combat Caster: +1 to magic during combat
Artifact: You get an extremely powerful item (i.e. The Hat)

Yeah but the problem is with skills I was thinking without that skill you get a -x to it. But if your proficient with the skill you get a +x, the problem is with the perks and disadvantages I wouldn't really want someone getting a +2 to something right off the bat.

I would say that perks shouldn't overlap with skills, or only overlap in certain situations.

List incoooming! I couldn't think of many disadvantages at the time, so any suggestions would be nice.

Perk List

Artifact- Can start with one low power magical item.
Rich- Starts with extra cash.
Lucky- Twice per session a player can re-roll a critical failure on a dice roll.
Catfall- The player can jump from higher heights without getting damaged.
Empathy- The player can choose to use their empathy to judge how he feels about an NPC. The GM will then do a secret roll to see if
the feeling is correct. The GM will not tell the player if they rolled a good number.
Extra Weapon- You get one extra weapon at the beggining.
Resourceful- You can roll to spot out ordinary items that could be useful.
Clever- +1 to Problem Solving Rolls
Healthy- +2 to the player's HP
Tough- The Player get's a -1 to damage taken.


Disadvantage List
Unlucky- The GM at anytime twice per session to have something extremely unlucky happen to the player.
Bloodlust- The player when in battle has to use deadly attacks on the opponent, otherwise they get a -1 when trying not to.
Honest- The player always feels inclined to tell the truth. They get a -1 to anyone rolls that involve lying.
Delusional- The GM will roll to see if the player see's something they do not, this can be something like a giant monster or a
secret passageway.
Obsessive- The player chooses one thing that their character is obsessed with.
Moronic- -1 to Problem Solving Rolls

so is this an entirely new squad? other wise i think its pretty good.

Oh and I seemed to not have included everything with a few of the perks and disadvantages. Obsessive for example means if something gets in the way of your obbsession you would have to do a self control roll, if you fail you have to do that.

And yes I decided that the people would start a new squad, starting with characters that could roundhouse kick c'thulu wouldn't be that fun. The players will play as an ameteur squad doing small jobs at first, then they'll eventually be that kind of squad in the Roleplaying thread. I still would like to know what times everyone can play, I can pretty much GM any day of the week since I have a pretty open schedule.

Currently I pretty much have all day though it varies so I'll have to ask I go to sleep at around 10:30 pm Central and wake up at 7:00 to 10:00 am

I have the basics of everything down, still looking for more people. I would still like some more suggestions for perks and disadvantages, I decided that they won't be pure bonuses to things, mainly special little quirks the character has.
