I'm...home... They woke us up at...sometime before 7 today, with trumpets and vevuzelas and everything. I hadn't been able to sleep because of all the sugary snacks they supplied, so I stayed up until 2:30 AM catching Mew in Pokemon Red. Then we trudged around the campus all day, and now I really need a nap.

Soapalope has been happy lately. He admired a fine engraving of Soap today. He ate a wonderful bar of Soap today. He has been annoyed by Elf-Fondling Human today. He is annoyed that he did not catch a Mew today.

I'm not so pretentious as to call myself that, but I'm constantly amazed at the difference between most computer speakers and a good headset.

I agree. I just got a new pair, and I can hear EVERYTHING. The best part is, my computer volume is on 1 and it's louder than it's ever been.

It's like when you're in daycare, and they have pop radio playing on the boombox all day.  Then one day your mom is sick, so your uncle comes to pick you up from daycare, and he's got ACDC playing on his cassette player.  Mind = Blown.

Btw, when this happened my little 6 year old opinion changed.  It went from "I don't like music" to "I don't like that music".  I had realized there was something worth listening to.

I wish my uncle was like that.  I got some Stairway when I was a kid but I didnt have the experience and context needed to know how mind-blowing it really was.  It took me til my teens to discover music 4 reelz :/

Until a few years ago I was one of those irritating people who dismissed most music as 'emo'. I didn't even have any musical taste. I just decided that anything remotely emotional or heavy was emo and therefore not worth listening to.

Now, my 'top rated' list on iTunes (I have a sort-of-compulsion to rate every song in my collection) contains Metallica, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Muse, Disturbed, SOiL, The White Stripes, Jonathan Coulton, Nine Inch Nails and Three Days Grace. It would also have ACDC if it was available on the iTunes store, but it isn't and I haven't bothered to buy a physical copy.

I'm just glad to have reached a point where I know what I like and I'm happy that other people like different things.

On that note, the '95% of teens listen to pop, thumbs up if you're one of the 5% that listens to real music' comments on YouTube annoy me so very, very much.

With a nice smattering of classical such as Bach, Chopin, and Weird Al.
