DF players need a natural outlet.  I can pretty much guarantee that those participating in this thread have experienced smoother, less chaotic forts.  All of their chaotic neutral energy is directed at this thread, allowing their forts to thrive.

So this is my first serious fort and I try to remember to do all important things, such as engraving. So one of the engravings was this:

Ok, fine. Then I looked at nearby civilizations:

Eh, what the--? I had to make sure what a marmot is.

So really - one of those little squakers became so legendary it earned a nickname and became a ruler of a civilization? Wow!

Nope, it's a demon loosely recognizable as being made in the form of a marmot. Hence the "fiend" in "marmot fiend".

I will, from now on, prefer to believe that a hyper-intelligent marmot leads and maintains the goblin threat.

Woah... It's like you're psychic AND hacked my computer!

In other news; I made frost wyrms horribly deadly in my mod. For whatever reason their 'freezing' flames, at a grand temperature of 5 urists (versus 10k for average animal's body temperature), will cause your fat to melt off, on top of the bleeding caused by the syndrome related. It's actually more deadly than the standard dragon breath but if you survive the initial bleeding (by being the size of a full grown bull elephant, and as anorexic as a super model on some killer drugs...) the remainder of the symptons from the syndrome are relatively minor. Well, maybe the swelling will be severe enough to cause necrosis, but that's still not as bad as the fat melting.
Blocking it doesn't really work though as it's a vapor. It will coat your entire body in the boiling-cold poison.
