Bug update! There is currently a bug in the time since last post counter due to the DST switch. Apparently my server and the forum server disagree about whether DST has happened yet, so all 'hours since last post' are one less than they should be. I am currently working on a fix.

SQL Update! (Get it?) The lurker tracker is now storing posts in an SQL database instead of wantonly saving every single page in zip files. This will allow for future improvements and neatens up a few things. Currently in the middle of bug-fixes, so report weird behavior.

Hey all!

Sorry for disappearing again, but now I'm back! Well, I'll be back playing Mafia next week, but for now I wanted to make a post announcing the next feature of Lurker Tracker: there's going to be a new account you can PM with replacements in the following form:

Code: [Select]
Thread: [url]
Replacement: [name1] [name2]

Where name 2 is replacing in for name 1. If you're the original poster of the thread, it will sub the replacement in and the Lurker Tracker will be updated automatically! ... within an hour or so, the script is going to be on a cron job that runs on the hour for efficiency's sake. You can tell me if that's not often enough and I can try something else.

I'm going to have a beta version up by tonight for people to test, but if anyone has any suggestions now re: this feature or other features, I'm willing to listen.

EDIT: Aaaaand the account LurkerTracker has been taken by someone who's been inactive since February. Lovely. Account name suggestions, anyone?

Well, I found a bug... not sure if I should fix it or not. If a guest account posts in a thread, then LurkerTracker fails.

I didn't even know we HAD guest accounts!

And LurkMoar sounds like a fine name.

Real accounts that are deleted become Guest accounts, I believe.

Dude, I registered LurkerTracker after we had this conversation a couple of months ago. I will send you the details (and a couple of ideas) later tonight. Great you are finally back!

Thanks! That'll be convenient, and it won't be hard to switch over, just have to change the associated email address. Glad to be back!

We can also work on RogueBot, if you're so inclined

That "Great you are finally back!" goes for you too, you absent-landlord you. This place felt oddly... empty without you.
