It sounds like they're ransacking the place pretty messily. You sit tight and hope that they leave soon. From your hiding spot, you see one person peek his head out the window and look around nervously, making you shrink back, but you don't think that he saw you.

You hear a muffled voice from the other side of the door. "Apologies, we're closed for the night now. Champagne brunch in the morning, but nothing is available until then."

((At the moment, it's you and female traveller (Player: Burnt Pie) in the lobby. Intellectual looking guy and unkempt kid just walked out through the left door. Anzki4 and Bdthemag are somewhere else. Probably.))

Well, you guess that you'd best give up on that scotch and prepare to polish off your tea and head to bed. Your eyes stray to the reception desk one more time. Where the old night-man is currently standing. Right there. What the fuck?!

((At the moment, it's you, Night-man and female traveller (Player: Burnt Pie) in the lobby. Intellectual looking guy and unkempt kid just walked out through the left door. Anzki4 and Bdthemag are somewhere else. Probably.))

Dirk mumbles "Oh-kay...", and puts down the now-suspicious tea, eyeing it.
He then proceeds towards the receptionist before he "disappears" again, to ask him if there's a scotch to be had anywhere in this establishment or near it.

"Pardon me, but is there anywhere in this establishment or nearby where I could get a scotch?"

"Well, Mr. van den Bosch, our onsite bar closed just about"
He checks his watch and coughs
"twenty minutes ago, but I'm sure that Adam is still up and about. If you knock on the door and ask for him to stay around for awhile, I'm sure he'd oblige. He's a nice guy, but it'd certainly help if you made it worth his while."


"And could you tell me where this bar is?"

"Certainly. Just head through those doors right there."

He points to the double doors on the left.

[Greyejoy]

Exchanges a confused and frustrated glance with Stjepan.

"What do you mean closed for the night? We just need a receptionist to get checked in to a room. And what was that bell a minute ago?"

"What do you mean closed for the night? We just need a receptionist to get checked in to a room. And what was that bell a minute ago?"

You hear the click of a lock and the doors open, showing you a medium aged man in a suit and bow tie.
"How do you mean? The Night-man should be at his desk, the old man never leaves it. This is the hotel bar, and I just finished up for the night. And what bell are you talking about?"

You continue to wait and there is continuous ransackage inside the shack. ((Meta comment: how long they're ransacking the place isn't tied to you sitting there, provided you don't get noticed.))

Stjepan stared at the man for a moment. The nightman never left? Was this guy just stupid? Maybe he just didn't know.

'This is the lounge, then? Was my father-in-law here? Tall guy, balding, brown hair and beard, usually wearing a black suit?'

Try to look around inside

I sneak around the house to the spot, where the old man was beaten, and check the ground for footprints. ((Being an experienced hunter and all.)) If I can spot them, I will start heading to the direction they are coming from. If I can't spot any footprint's I will return to my previous hiding spot.

"Thank you", Dirk replies acerbic.

He proceeds towards the double doors, and goes on to look for this Adam fellow.
The hardships one must endure for a drink... Sheesh.

"This is the lounge, then? Was my father-in-law here? Tall guy, balding, brown hair and beard, usually wearing a black suit?"

"Yes sir, this is the hotel bar/lounge. Let me see here . . . yeah I served a guy with that description a few hours ago. Chappie had one of the gold cards that let him get everything for really cheap and just charge it to his room. He got pretty out of it about two hours ago. I recommended that he call it a night, and I was surprised when he actually got up and left without argument. Heck if the patron's at this hotel aren't some of the least trouble I've ever had to tend."

Through the somewhat open doors, it's a comfortable lounge with numerous comfortable tables and booths scattered about and a long, polished bar dominating the back of the room. The lady in the evening gown is seated at the bar. There's a very nice assortment of liqueurs on the wall behind the bar. There's a few speakers on the walls, but they're quiet at the moment. Guy in a suit enters the hallway.

You decide to attempt to track the old man's footsteps away from the area, leaving the safety of your cover to do so. The second you're out in the open, you hear the door of the shack burst open (and off of its hinges) as the youngish men leave. You decide that discretion is the better part of valor and go to ground again, although it's not nearly as good of a spot as before (just among some prickly bushes). Thankfully, they don't see you. You lack visual coverage of the men, but it sounds like they're running away from the shack, and into the shallow water of the swamp.

You do so, and find Unkempt kid and Intellectual looking guy talking the suited bartender from a semi-closed door. You take the opportunity to peer into the lounge.

You drift off to sleep in the comfy chair, only to be woken by a somewhat loud cough. There's an old man, well dressed, behind the counter.

"Excuse me ma'am, where you planning to get a room tonight?"

The hell?

I carefully get out from the bushes and continue looking for footsteps. If I cannot find any at the side of the house that provides cover from the side where the three youngsters are, I will look for another place to hide and wait there.

[Greyejoy]

Blinks, and shakes his head.

"You said the receptionist never leaves the desk, but there was no one there when we came in. Look, I'm..very knackered and I just want to book a room. Do you know if anyone else is around that can check us in?"

[Burnt Pies]

"Yes, I was planning on getting a room. Problem is, that's just a little bit difficult when the front desk is unmanned."

[Digital Hellhound]

'But I just spoke with him fifteen minutes ago or so and he was...' Stjepan pauses, 'Well, can you tell me his room number? There's nobody at the lobby desk.'
