You creep closer to the house, with the noise of the swamp and whatever that other sound in your ears. The water starts to get lower, and you thankfully end up on dryish land about 75 meters away from the house. You're fairly sure that you can place the sound now, someone digging downward with a shovel and a fair bit of ferocity. A branch breaks under your shoes. The noise stops, and a raspy voice calls out.

"Who be out there? Whe'ear are 'ye?"

Well, as far as places to stop go, this seems like a good enough one. You've been driving through the desert highway for most of the day thinking.

The lobby is still comfortably, if somewhat dimly, furnished. Comfortable chairs and couches line the walls, having not gone anywhere. There is a staircase on each side of the room, leading to an open second floor balcony. To the left and right, there sets heavy, wooden doors. Straight in front is a glass door through which a corridor is visible. To the right of the glass door are two additional wooden doors which have signs on them, but you are unable to make out what they say. A single glass door is visible on the balcony level. There is a counter on the first floor, set with several carafes, probably coffee, as well as some tea bags, hot chocolate mix, and various other hot beverage supplies. There's one guy in a suit here ((Player: Siquo)) and a female traveler ((Player: Burnt Pies)). Something feels really strange about this place . . .

You open the door, and there's a rush of air. What the hell? That's no hotel room! You whirl 180 degrees. The hotel corridor is . . . gone. Just a little pool of light that you're standing on, quickly becoming darkness in every direction. While the door opens into countryside very unlike what's outside.

It's a wooded, pleasant landscape, with tall high trees one one side of a gently curving road and green grass fields on the other. A manor house sits on the edge at the end of the road, the only building in sight. Several windows are lit. There's a strange pull in the direction of the road . . .

Get behind some cover - because you never know - and shout back:
 "I'm kind of lost! I'm looking for some directions here!"
Try to get a look - by peeking behind the cover - of the owner of the voice.

I nod to the guy in the suit, and inquire at the front desk about a room for the night. And a cup of tea.

Clothes: a red T-shirt, skinny jeans, trainers and a Fedora.

Stjepan blinked hard, staring at the end of the corridor, apparently just disappearing into white light. On the other side, the light was green. He had to be seeing things. How big was this hotel?

'Well' Stjepan mutters, 'green always was my favorite color.'

"What the fuck.." Nicholas say's quietly, "How big is this hotel?". He suddenly felt as if he should no wait, had to go to the manor nearby. Muttering to himself he started walking towards the manor.

You crouch behind a pile of split wooden logs. "I'm kind of lost! I'm looking for some directions here!"

"Yer tryin' to ge' wha's mine, aren't you? I'll getcha offa my land. Yes I will!"

Very hostile sounding. You peek around your little bit of cover to see an old man moving at a (for an old man) rapid pace towards you, brandishing a rusty shovel. Ulp.

Well, you can see what looks to be a tea assortment near the coffee station, but best get your room reserved first, right? You turn to face the reception desk. There's a flash of light and you blink hard, clearing your head. What the hell? There's no one at the reception desk . . .

Even stranger, looking around the room, the lady in the evening gown is gone. Suit guy is still there, but he doesn't look like he even registered the flash. You rub the back of your head nervously as a intellectual looking type (Player: Greyejoy) enters the hotel.

You head down the right hallway, going past another long string of plain, deserted hotel rooms. Nothing seems out of place. As you get closer, the light becomes a fair bit clearer, as another glass door. You guess that it was just a trick of the surprisingly long hallway, as you can see a well lit pool with a bunch of green vegetation around it (you're not sure if it's real or plastic). Fancy a swim?

Deciding to roll with it, you head in the direction of the manor house. The sun is below the horizon and it's getting dark quickly. You make your way to the gravel road of a path and trudge forward (it's slightly uphill). You see a small, dark shape making your way towards you. You're fairly sure that it's a little girl, carrying something in one hand. What could she be doing this time of night, all by herself? A chill goes up your spine . . .

Stjepan let out a nervous chuckle at himself. Nothing strange here, aside from the fact the hotel hadn't looked this large from outside. It was fairly obvious the lounge wouldn't be here, though.

Quickly look for a something that could be used as and weapon. If nothing else is near, grab a log. Place the weapon behind the pile of logs - out of sight - but be ready to grab it if necessary. Stand up showing my hands and try to calm him down:
 "I have no intention harming you, or your property. I'm lost and would need some directions."
Try to evaluate the mans strength.

Look around the lobby strangely, and blush slightly realising how awkward or strange the entrance must have seemed. Take a deep breathe and walk towards the reception desk, nodding and smiling slightly to each person in turn while passing.

"Hello, I'd like to reserve a room for the night please."

blink several times, check for anyone who looks like a hotel employee. If no-one's around, make a cup of tea. If there is someone nearby, make a cup of tea then inquire about a room.

It's a long, uneventful, but somewhat creepy walk back to the hotel lobby. Deserted hotels are always kinda creepy, right? Looks like there's some more new arrivals, but heck if there are any staff looking types.

Weapon weapon weapon weapon weapon, come on weapon! There's a woodcutting axe, worn, old, but certainly serviceable right nearby. You carefully move it in a good position to grab, if need be, but you think that the old man may have noticed you moving something.

 "I have no intention harming you, or your property. I'm lost and would need some directions."

"Yore lyin sack of shit. There's no reason to be in tha Sheep swamp if youse wasn't after what's mine. I'll git you, I will."

He's certainly an old man, and he looks pretty worn. However, he's getting closer, has a long shovel/spade and looks very mean.

Blushing slightly, you make your way to the reception desk. The hotel seems normal enough, upon reflection, but it seems that the desk is unoccupied. The female traveler ((Player: Burnt Pies)) moves to make herself a cup of tea. You wonder where the staff is. Shouldn't there be someone here? Or at least a bell to ring?

*Blink* *Blink* *Blink* Intellectual guy ((Player: Greyejoy)) walks up to the desk and looks around somewhat confusedly. You decide to have a cup of tea while you wait for the night-man to return from wherever the heck he went. You probably are just a bit over-tired, although something nags you at the back of your head. There's a very large assortment of tea bags available. What kind are you  to go for?

((I... wha... hnngh? Thanks a lot, man, for that secret message. I'm never going back into that corridor again.))

Stjepan scratched his head, looking at the new arrivals in the lobby. He had no wish to explore this place alone any longer. Stjepan marched up to the two newcomers, raising his voice.

'Would anyone be interested in looking for the lounge in this hellhole with me? I'll buy drinks for everyone if we do manage to find it.' he said, forcing himself to laugh a bit to lighten the mood.

Youngish guy in somewhat unkempt clothes ((Player: Digital Hellhound)) ((For Siquo only: re-))enters through the 1st floor glass door and loudly asks, "Would anyone be interested in looking for the lounge in this hellhole with me? I'll buy drinks for everyone if we do manage to find it," before laughing somewhat nervously.

Earl Grey. It is the Best tea.

"I'm a bit tired to be wandering hotels. I'm sorry. As soon as I've got a room, I'm going to bed."

I check for a bell or something I can ring to summon a new receptionist.

I grab the axe and attack the old man. I try to block his shovel using the axe. I try not to injure him lethally, but I take every opportunity I can get to strike him. When in close range, I try to use my other hand to get a grip of his shovel and twist it out of his hands.
