You put the phone back in your pocket and go talk to the one chick downstairs. You're not actually all that surprised that the room is now deserted except for the one guy in the suit ((Siquo)) who neither saw the woman in the dress leave nor knows where the lounge is. You notice that the champagne flute, half full, is still sitting on a table. Worst. Hotel. Ever.

Turning around and getting your bearings, you find that the door you entered through is there, resting on floorboards that must be on top of something solid in the mud. The door is closed, and a quick peek around reveals it to just be a doorframe in the middle of some kind of swamp. Still, it's better than standing in the water, and it looks like your feet could find some purchase on it, so with a bit of agility, you climb on top of the door. It seems much more solid than an unsupported door frame should be, but that doesn't surprise you much right now.

It's a dim swamp in every direction, dotted with occasion scraggly tree. In one direction you can see a small house, a fair distance away. Looks like there's a light source besides the house. Looking up, it's too overcast to see the moon or stars.

Open the door, just in case to see if the hotel corridor is there. If it is, go back there, if it isn't head carefully towards the house, making sure I won't sink to the mud.

After a bit of trick maneuvering, you get into a position where you can turn the doorknob and pull on the door. It opens with a bit of difficulty. You swing down and inside. Very peculiar. You're standing in a patch of light from the bog outside, but everything beyond that little pool is darkness. A strong desire to close the door behind you rises into your consciousness . . .

You decide that some investigative exploration is in order. The door on the first floor closest to the glass door catches your eye. Perhaps the sign on it that you couldn't make out before might be useful?

Men's Restroom

Well, you feel kinda stupid now, don't you? You check the next door over, which seems to be the female specific counterpart. It feels like someone is watching you . . .

Shout to the darkness and wait for answer. If no one -or thing- answers those calls, close the door and wait for my eyes to adapt to the darkness. Then examine the house.

'Err... is someone there? Do you have any idea where the lounge is? I swear, this hotel was designed by a retard.'

If no-one answers, get back to the lobby

No response from the darkness. You close the door and wait for your eyes to adjust a bit better to the dim light.

The house is very small, more like a shack than anything else. There's a rickety chimney and at least one window, but you can't make out much more from here.

You step away from the restroom doors and take a seat on one of the lobby chairs. Everything seems as normal as heck, except for it being a truly terrible hotel. Chair's pretty comfy though.

Dirk, after thanking the receptionist, decides it's too early to turn in yet, so heads for the foyer, to see if he can still get a scotch at this hour.

Demeanor: Sunny, but with steel underneath. Has strong morals.
Inventory: Map of the area, emergency teabags, basic makeup, loose change.
Reason: Katie's on a long trip 'round America to get away from home for a while, and maybe have a look at nice places to move to. She's only just started on her trip, having flown in yesterday from Heathrow, and the Jet Lag's killing her. She's after a cup of tea and a bed more comfortable than the back seat of the hire car, in that order.

Stjepan pushed himself up from the chair and looked around. There was no point in just sitting around. He picked another door at random and marched onwards, hoping for the lounge this time.

You squelch your way through the mud and water on your way to the house, nowhere else to go, right?  As you get closer, you start to hear noises other than the swampy sounds of animals and bugs. A continuous, soft shipping sound. You think that it's coming from near the light source (which you're pretty sure is a lantern at this point) next to the house. No new details reveal themselves to you, but you're unsure of exactly how the final approach to the house should be.

You slide your keycard through the slot on the door and open it up, at which point nothing happens while the GM realizes that he needs to go look something up on another computer to continue.

A youngish man in unkempt clothes leaves the lobby somewhat angrily, after he asked if you knew where the bar was. Far too early for you to go to bed, and a drink sounds nice first anyway. You've heard that this hotel has a pretty nice selection of booze, but heck if you know where said spirits are. Annoying. You suppose that you should probably ask someone, but no one presents yourself. The sound of big, old bell echoes throughout the hotel, and you hear footsteps. Someone walks in the front door (Player: Burnt Pies)

This seems to be a good enough hotel to stay the night at. You enter the hotel through the front door

the lobby is comfortably, if somewhat dimly, furnished. Comfortable chairs and couches line the walls, with a gorgeous woman in an evening gown sipping pink champagne sitting in one. An elderly man, dressed in white dress shirt and black tie waits behind the reception desk. There is a staircase on each side of the room, leading to an open second floor balcony. To the left and right, there sets heavy, wooden doors. Straight in front is a glass door through which a corridor is visible. To the right of the glass door are two additional wooden doors which have signs on them, but you are unable to make out what they say. A single glass door is visible on the balcony level. There is a counter on the first floor, set with several carafes, probably coffee, as well as some tea bags, hot chocolate mix, and various other hot beverage supplies. There's one guy in a suit here ((Player: Siquo))

You decide to head down the corridor through the glass door. Hotels usually aren't that tough to navigate. You walk down a long corridor of numbered hotel rooms, with no one in sight other than the lights on the walls and the carpet on the ground. Eventually, you end up at a crossroads, with the corridor splitting into identical hallways left, right, and straight ahead. They look pretty much the same, but the hallway to your left seems to end in a white light, the one to your right looks greenish, and the one straight ahead doesn't really look any different.

((Oh, damn... I dunno what I was thinking last time I posted, but I was pretty tired. Somehow I thought that the door I opened was the house's door Anyways, I'm back awake.))

Walk closer to the house, as silently as possible, and peek in through window.
