You step up to the desk as the suit edges away with his keycard.

"What's the cost to get a room here?"

"Very reasonable sir, I've got a elegant one person room available for $124 tonight."

That's a very reasonable price for a hotel room, especially at a posh looking place like this. You wonder what the catch is, probably cockroaches or something. Still, you'd like to sleep in a bed tonight. You hand off your credit card to the man behind the desk (heck if it ain't impossible to find a hotel that'll take cash nowadays) and he gives you your key.

"I hope that you enjoy your, Mr. Right. Room One-hundred and Seventy-three."

Nicholas nodded akwardly and headed to his room, he whispered under his breath "How the hell did he know my name."

Nicholas then headed to his room.

Ignore the voice. Open up the hotel room, find a table to place your tea cup and throw your backpack on bed. Then thoroughly search the room.

Stjepan checked his watch again. He should've arrived by now. Henry was never late anywhere. He had no idea why his father-in-law had wanted to meet him in this lonely little hotel. This place gave him the creeps, sitting all alone on the roadside like that motel in Psycho. The sooner he was out of here, the better.

Stjepan strode over to the desk.

'Could you tell me the room number of Mr. Henry Newton, please? I'm supposed to be meeting him here. Old man's probably forgotten the whole thing.'

Stjepan asks for his father-in-law's room number and, if he receives it, heads over there

You head through the first floor glass door into a long, normal-type hotel hallway. Something feels vaguely wrong in your head, and you notice that the lights flicker a bit. It doesn't take you long to find your room though.

You slide your keycard through the locking mechanism and the little light turns green. The door opens inward and you feel a sudden rush of air around you. It's enough of a gust that you stumble a step forward, through the doorway. Your foot falls about a foot further than it should, and it lands in water? The surprise and movement make you lose your balance even worse, and you fall to your hands on knees into murky water that's about a foot deep. Your hands feel mud, and even as  you think, you start to slip downward . . .

You pry your gaze away from the eye candy, somewhat creeped out by the whole affair. Best go ask the front desk guy where the old man is. Get in, drop the package, get the hell back to a normal place. Easy as pie. Errrrr . . . Where'd the old man behind the desk go?

Stjepan rolled his eyes. This might just be the worst hotel ever. Though maybe they just couldn't afford hiring any more staff, with the idiotic location and such.

Stjepan heads up to the second-floor balcony and tries to call his father-in-law there.

You head up to the second floor balcony and whip out your cellular telecommunications device. Then you look at the screen. WEAK SIGNAL What the bloody hell? It's showing two whole fucking bars. That's more than enough to get a call though. Stupid phone. You call your father-in-law and he answers after a few rings.

"'Shello?"
He sounds somewhat under the influence, you immediately note.
"Hey, why aren't you in the lobby like you're supposed to?"

"There's freeheeheeee drinks he*ic* in the lounge, Stefie! Come and drink for a moment!"

You attempt to get directions to the lounge from the guy, but he doesn't seem to remember how he got there. Best go and find him, you guess.

You grope with your hands, trying to find a way to stand up, but there's nothing in reach. The mud continues to suck you in, why before long, you'll be under water! Wait. Actually, it's not really pulling all that much at all. As long as you don't stand still for a minute, it perfectly safe to walk around in. That's a relief, but what the hell is going on? You take a look at your backpack, and it looks like it got dunked into the water pretty badly, but a quick peak inside reveals that the contents aren't worse than damp.

Stjepan tried to remember the last time he'd seen his father-in-law drunk. Mr. Newton liked to drink as much as any man, but he never lost control of himself.

Stjepan heads back down and asks the woman or whoever's there where the lounge is

Look around to find out what is this place. Look for the door that I just came through and if it cannot be found, look for someplace above the water.
