Ten years with the same woman (15-16 we meet), three years married, two kids in those three years, no years living together.

Did I mention I have a wife?

Haha.  I'd been missing your saying that.

Well, I'm glad it works for you.  I'm not so sure it'll work for me, but... aw, heck, it just makes me happy to see that it's worked out well for someone.

Adorable. Enough to make me want one, spend five minutes playing with it, then giving back to it's parents as it poops itself.

Ha ha, that is pretty much exactly what went through my head.  :)

I built up a tolerance, fortunately.

Good god! Doesn't anybody have a sense of humor on this message board?

... Why are you asking in an Asperger's thread about senses of humor?

Hey. I have Asperger's Syndrome AND a sense of humor. I take unreasonable offense to your innocent comment and querulously accuse you of being insensitive to people in my situation :P.

Hey. I have Asperger's Syndrome AND a sense of humor.

So do I, but my sense of humor isn't compatible with jokes about trolling for dates in the women's restrooms.

As I said: let's move on.

Oh god fuck relationships. I like to think I am extremely wise and mature for my age by realizing I am not a huge enough asshole to inflict myself upon some poor soul. Maybe in ten years or so I can test the waters, but the point where I can open up with someone and communicate effectively and all that, is definitely not happening soon.

I may have had it (or may still to some extent for all I know), but it is somewhat hard to say as one's view of one's self is probably about the most biased view out there. But my mother seemed to think I did; which is a bit more credible if you also know she is an occupational therapist who works with autism spectrum and other special needs children. She never actually went for a diagnosis though because, as she put it, there is no sense in putting a stigmatized label on someone when the meaning behind the label primarily consists of having a hard time socializing. An uncle had some symptoms of it, thus adding a potential piece of hereditary evidence, as from what I know it has a genetic factor. So, chances are, I had a mild case of it, which seems to have gotten better over time.

There's a simple cure for aspergers' communication inability: Fake it.

Analysing non-verbal communication rationally instead of subconsciously takes a bit more time, but if you're smart enough you can do it. Just look at people, how they act, how they look, memorise facial expressions and map that on the person using them. If you do it long enough, it'll become a second nature and you'll get better at it.
