That was more just my general cynicism coming out, I knew what you meant, but I'm bitter about the general state of humanity. 

I've known a few Canadians, and they fit the same general range of personality as everyone else I've ever met; most were normal, decent people, some were genuinely interesting, one was a massive bigot who constantly spewed racist and sexist slurs. (Although the proportions might be reversed for Americans I know.) Also, agreed with that last point. I tend to sew Canadian flags onto my backpack and suitcase when I'm overseas for much the same reasons.
