We Finally Reached the Future

Well, guys, it isn't a hovercar, but it does go 10,000 feet into the air.

Behold, gentlemen, the future.

Huh. I wonder what powers it, gas I'm assuming? I wish there were some specs on it's performance. How big is the tank, and how long does it last? Some of those pictures look great, nice and sleek. It'd be crazy if they actually start producing these things.

The biggest problem with that design is stability.  With just the two fans, there's no triangulation, so if it leans too far over it won't be able to right itself.

Bonus points for style though, I appreciate using an actual bike body.

Here's a better link than in the OP, where the dude personally spoke the Gizmodo and all the technical details are revealed.

It's been the future for like a decade. I mean, SMARTPHONES, CYBORGS, AUTONOMOUS KILLER AIRCRAFT!

Still, that's one sweet ride.

What, you would rather have a hover-tricycle?

I agree, though a quad-copter would be far more interesting.

Stability depends on how the rotors are configured. If they're articulated like helicopter rotors, an onboard computer could make automatic adjustments to blade pitch. General Dynamics needs to get this guy's phone number. I can definately see these things used by all sorts of uniformed services.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this guy turns out to be the Alexander Graham Bell of the next however long. Just a sort unassuming dude who ends up ruling the next decade.

I sure wouldn't.
