You could just set the oil on fire and throw it at the enemy...
That works.

Initiative: Frist 4; Skyler 3; Max 2; Bonobo 2; Giant Caecilia 1
Running for his life, Frist makes his way to the south-east with the intent of putting Max between him and the monster. Skyler, suddenly hit with a brilliant idea, lights a bottle of her oil and throws it at the monster, getting a direct hit. The flask bursts into flames on the creatures flesh, scalding it and sending it into a frenzy. Seeing their opportunity, Bonobo and Max go on the offensive, with Bonobo throwing a rock at the monster and Max closing in to attack. The rock hits and bounces off the creatures skin and Max doesn't quite make it to the monster, despite running as fast as he can. The giant worm-like creature drops to the ground, rolling about and trying to stop the flames. They die out, eventually.

Bonobo throws another rock at the giant worm-creature, with it bouncing harmlessly off its hide. The worm lurches forwards at Max, it's mouth extended and it aiming for his arm. However, it misses and goes straight past him before backing up for another shot. Frist starts sneaking and heads around the north-east facing wall to get a good back stab on the monster. Skyler throws a rock at the enemy, missing completely. Finally, Max takes a swing at the creature, cutting it clean in half and sending blood flying everywhere.

The party looks around and is incredibly surprised that no one is injured.

"What the hell was that thing?" shouts Bonobo, confused.

"That, my friends, was a Giant Caecilia, a kind of giant worm." answers Skyler.

Mages: Try and open the chest
Frist: Sneakily peek through the door the worm came through
Max: Get into a position near the door so that Frist can put you between himself and whatever is on the other side in a hurry

Bonobo, seeing as he can take the most damage, steps up to the chest. Grimacing, he lifts the lid off the chest and sees that it is filled with coins and gems. Suddenly, he hears a click and and the arm falls off the statue, heading straight for him. Bonobo tries to get out the way, but is too slow and ends up with his foot impaled by the spear. Thankfully, it isn't a bad wound, and he escapes much more unharmed that he thought he would.

Next, Frist and Max prepare to open the door, getting ready to fight whatever is on the other side. The door is already open from the Caecilia jumping through, though. Frist sees a 30' long hallway in front of him that turns to the right and has a door on the left.

Frist: Check hallway for traps
Max: Stick close to Frist
Mages: Go through treasure

--

Assuming all goes well have Frist and Skyler hide next to the door in the new hallway and Max bust it down.

Searching through the chest, you find around 700 copper pieces, 270 electrum pieces and three gems. You know that you can fit 240 coins in a large sack and both Skyler and Frist have a large sack. The gems can fit in your backpacks.

Max and Frist check the room for traps together, with Max guarding Frist from any monsters. They find no traps in the hallway.

We leave the chest as it is, unless we want to make a small cove near to the entrance holding our loot in a secretive way.

You decide to leave the chest where it is, you can always come back for it at a later time, besides, you don't want it slowing you down.

Assume the usual door ambush position and open the door in the hallway.

We leave the chest as it is, unless we want to make a small cove near to the entrance holding our loot in a secretive way.

We can haul it to the boat and bury the leftover copper off the island latter. How much longer do you guys think we should press on before calling it a day and setting up camp/returning to town?

The party lines up before the door, ready to attack anything that charges out after them. Max puts down his axe for a moment to rest, before pulling the door open. Inside are four goblins looking angrily at you, one of them looks pretty huge.
