So I recently got into this game, but I noticed something.



Some of my graphics are glitched because of my computers locale settings. This is what the flag looks like on Japanese locale. The maps are also ever so slightly glitched too but workable still. I know there's really nothing to do here so I'm mostly posting about it out of intrest in knowing just why it glitches this way than anything.

Well, I know you're on steam, but I'll go ahead and try and explain what's going on. LCS is an ASCII game, and so everything comes out of codes, each code representing a different letter. Those codes are then displayed by font. Since you have the Japanese locale on your computer, it tends to go to the letters stored in the Japanese section which can be pretty different. That's what I think is going on though.

Yes... I bet there's a way LCS could specify the code page, depending on the OS.

I dunno, just something about the curliness of the symbols makes me think of Arabic Calligraphy.

Looks nothing Arabic to me really. Not even a single Arabic letter is close to that. Plus calligraphy tends to be connected and such. Looks more Hebrew than arabic to me.

It looks a bit Hebrewy, yeah (although my knowledge on this subject is limited and I could be wrong) but with just a glance the first thing I saw was '7' written all over the flag.

Anyhoo, this stuff is rather familiar to me. LCS on Wine seemed a bit odd (although I could've broken it myself as well).

The heading looks like it says "Heri Strife"

Dunno if it'll work (it didn't for me because I use cygwin) but right click on the title bar and pick defaults.
From there, under options, you can pick a code page.
You can also change the font under the font tab, because the default font looks horrible.

If you can get it to use code page 437, it should clear up all these problems.

I get the option to switch code page when I pick defaults. But otherwise I just get this.



Can't switch it.
