(Bah to sudden happenings of mehness. Onwards with the (apparently) confusing plot!)
You walk into what was obviously the Council room, as you can still feel the heat of at least 9 Aura of Flames spells having gone off at the same time, but it was not enough, as you can see the late coucilmen in the middle of the chair ring. Griffin speaks first:
"What the hell did you bring in here that can resist 9 Aura of Flames?"
(1-1+1)"You aren't trusted enough to know." Rik says, and continues into one of the councilmen's rooms. Derm is already sitting in there with Codex, where did they come from? But Derm looks a bit odd in the eyes, he has a look of newly exposed madness about him. Derm was never unstable enough to be taken to the Psyward, where did that come from?
You hear the confused talking of Hiraluke behind you, and looking, he is indeed here. Rik speaks again.
"Unlike the Shapers, we are not bogged down by trying to look benign as possible to the public, because we are unknown to the world. Non-existant. Vanished generations ago, you probably heard of the 'deathblow'. But it was not one as we let the Shapers lead everyone to believe, we simply accepted our loss on the mainland, cut our losses, and fled to the very numerous islands of this part of the world and hid. We rebels have been silencing for generations the island-sent Shapers sent to weed us out completly, and with that came vast improvements in naval speeds to silence the signallers. This is how your misdirected friend was gotten here so fast. Well, with a bit of Haste boosting as well, can't have too much speed with this sort of thing. ANYWAY, I did not pull you all here to to give you a revised history lesson. I brought you all here to make a choice, because you are not entierly set in the mindset of the Shapers. Derm has already chosen and Codex knows a good trade when he sees one, but hasn't necessarily joined us. The Shapers you know. Us, on the other hand, are not as restrictive with power. With info we are, but as you trio of Shapers likely know already, Knowledge is Power. You are not being forced to pick a side, the Shapers are not stupid, and we are just as reasonable, if not more. It would be quite hazardous to tell full shapers of our existence unless they tell you of us first, either way. You will not necessarily have to fight your way out of here if you decline, but don't expect the docility you had coming in, because I'm not going to waste Essence creating more Control Point Vlish just to be polite; that was a precaution in case they'd attempt to quit literally shoot the messenger I sent you.
But I've rambled on quite long enough for now, I'll leave you six to your decisions. The Shapers with their extensive knowledge, control of the mainland, and major skill in manipulation, or us, with our lesser manipulatory skill,'lost' items, and far greater possible power after you remember the entire forbidden creation/modification list the Shapers have in place.
Shaper Rik then walks out of the room, the door shutting behind him.
