Well, Game Lore was that creatures made at the facility were much better, but the mechanics didn't really capture that. It doesn't really matter one way or the other, but shaping guide (costs for stats, what stats do in this game) would be appreciated. ^_^

Our Shaper should get himself a thorn baton for this mission, if possible, I think. We'll also need plenty of healing pods, since apparently the healer is going with the other party. :<

Agreed.

I'll get a book on buff magicks, making sure it has haste in it, and I'll also make sure to snatch up any loot on the way to the library and back.

Codex (6+2!) Swipes The Apprentice's guide to speedlearning: Haste and other useful things, freezes for a moment against the wall's shadow, and then sneaks off to the boat, finding a couple healing pods, new Thorn Baton and an unharvested thorn bush along the way.
Inventory additions: book, 2 healing pods, thorn baton, 10 thorn sets.

Griffin makes two controlled artillas with no other boosts, for 32 Essence. They are level 5. He has 18 Essence left when boarding, and they follow on to it (3) without major trouble.
Team: 2 Lv.5 Artilla

Derm (3) finds an ok Firebolt book, (6) 10 thorn sets, and a baton before getting on the boat.

Everyone else also climbs on, and it sails off.

The boat requires drayk control to modify sufficiently.
Doesn't mean you cant rub against Dragnar and try to overcome the penalty, though!
