Vattic is the only person I know of on the internet (besides myself) who actually remembers 2000AD and the related content. A shame. I have a 1986 Nemesis book around here somewhere and I've no idea how uncommon that sort of thing is these days.

I have also Nemesis 2 and 3 around (in Finnish), bought from antiquarian bookshop quite some years back.

Remembers? I'm not really old enough to remember what I'm reading right now, born in 1989, but my Dad has some Judge Dread and all of Horned God which he leant me. I really enjoyed most of what I read so I've hunted bits down. I agree that it's a shame more don't know of it.

You might want to see this film trailer made by some students for a film that will sadly never exist. If you want a higher quality copy I can upload it for a while or email it.

Nemesis the Warlock is great. It's like Warhammer 40k from the aliens perspective and I suggest it for any 40k fan for this reason. Really love the satirical content even if it does get a little strange when the ABC Warriors get involved.

On the topic of British comics did you ever read Toxic!? But more specifically the Accident man or Marshal Law strips? Just thinking about them makes me want to dig all of Toxic! out again. It's just a shame they went under.

Have you read the Gaunt's Ghost series by Abnett yet? It has perhaps some of the best chaos siege scenes ever written. Probably only equaled by Storm of Iron and all the stuff in that series.

After all this highbrow Civil War stuff, I'm tempted to go dive into some 40k :P

My boss recently bought one, and I went through the features lists of various ones with him and helped him make a final decision.  He got a Nook and let me fool around with it a bit.  It's pretty nice.  Whether or not it's the best, I don't think you could really go wrong with it.

I,d get a tablet instead. I have both a hanlin v6 and an asus eee transformer. While the reader is not bad by any means, they are simply too expensive for the few things they can do. Since I got the tablet I barely use the hanlin..  about the only thing going for it over a tablet its the extremedly long battery life.

Fuck off guys, you obviously know I'm not just propping my books up against a flaming brand.

It's a flashlight.

I'm totally against the concept of a tablet. It's an abomination against nature, and I'm really looking for something with e-Ink that's easier on the eyes.

The Nook looks really cool, but is apparently quite hard to get in Europe. :(

Finished Cathedral, starting on Baudolino.

I'm starting to suspect that the first chapter was uncharacteristically hilarious.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.
