Chop down the largest tree I can find close to me with my axe.
You approach the twisted tree, hefting your axe and preparing to chop it down, when you catch yourself short at the end of a barely visible pit full of brambles. As you slowly back away, you hear a keening sound suddenly filling the air, and a trio of soul eaters detach themselves from their resting place among the twisted branches. You back away as they begin to pursue you.

Alright, time to go a-choppin! Pick the largest tree and fell it! If it starts falling instead of breaking up into handy collectable loglets, try to aim it at an approaching monster.

As you watch freeformschooler get chases away from the tree by the devourers, you quickly rush in to take advantage of the opportunity to knock down the tree. Unfortunately, you rush right into the patch of corrupt brambles that stopped him short, and you go face first into the pit. Yelling in pain, you try to climb out, grabbing the roots of the tree, feeling revulsion at the small, disgusting worms and beetles that swarm over your hands, giving it tiny bites. Before you can worry much more about it, though, but you feel something sharp and painful sink into your right leg and give you a sharp pull down.
Takes 40 damage, 60 health remain.

dig a hole to hide us in.

You spend some time digging a nice big hole to hide everyone in, but piling the dirt along the rim was apparently a bad idea. When you climb out to tell Nirur that you've finished, the dirt collapses back into the hole.
Nirur
Dig a small circular trench, piling up the dirt inside it to form a earthwork wall of sorts. Ahra's hole can be in the middle.

You quickly prepare a small trench and earthworks to defend yourself against any incoming enemies around the hole Ahra is digging. Only later do you realize that Ahra's hole has failed pretty miserable and Cerapa has dissapeared.
This fortification will give you an additional roll (choose highest) to all attacks and dodges when fighting enemies attacking from outside it!

I hit the purple stuff with my pick until all of it in the immediate area is clear of it.

You immediately begin setting out around the base the others are building, hitting randomly at the ground and upturning the purple. There is real, fresh dirt underneath. You make good progress, until one of your hits sinks deeper than expected! Taking a closer look, you find darkness... until the ground collapses beneath your feet, sending you tumbling into the pit! After a long fall, you land gracefully at the bottom of a deep pit with steep walls and, surprisingly, a nearby light source! A torch lies on the ground, and next to it is a skeleton with broken legs, and next to HIM is a chest! You also notice you've fallen right past the corruption, and your surroundings are completely corruption free!
What do you all choose to do next?
Weather[6]: Tonight's conditions are clear, and the moon is bright and white. No sign of floating eyeballs or zombies.
