I still don't get why if Bill Clinton banging at least one intern wasn't enough for him to be kicked out of a far more important job, why this guy's internet shenanigans mean he should resign from a much less responsible job.

Really it just pisses me off when the media seizes on some more or less arbitrary story and beats it to death while things that actually matter get ignored more and more. If they can harass somebody into taking a leave of absence and resignation (which I'm sure is going to follow from this) then imagine what they could do to people found guilty of corruption, lying to constituents, and so on. But they don't because, of course, lurid scandals mean money and money trumps everyone's sense of journalistic integrity and sense of being a responsible adult, apparently. This is the fucking politics equivalent of Balloon Boy.

Consent.

That's why.  It's not about infidelity so much as it's about sexual harassment and a lack of consent.

Again - should be a briefly mentioned curiosity compared to the other shit a responsible media would be getting on politicians' cases for.

Consent is really fucking serious.  The media should not be covering this quite as much, no.  But he should sure as hell be losing his position over it.

Bill Clinton was impeached for prejury to a grand jury and obstruction of justice. It now looks like Weiner is serial sexually-harassing women. Both are clearly misconduct, and how the media pays its bills has nothing to do with this.

Wait, has it been revealed he did something worse than camwhores and trying to turn random women into camwhores?

Also "pays its bills?" Come on, don't try and make them look like the good guy. Although I suppose their audience is as much to blame.

And it's just a distraction from how the economy is still pretty shitty and how the republicans have a budget to kill medicare, among other things.

Even if the photos were unsolicited, how are they any worse than ordinary spam (which, I feel I should remind you, also tends to deal almost exclusively with highly inappropriate topics)

You can see popup ads on the internet, so why the hell does anyone care about being flashed?

First, turning random women into whores is being a sexist pig, and this is coming from a man who prides himself in chauvanism.

Secondly, attacking the media or the population at large does nothing to defend Weiner's actions.

Does that mean you'll become a naked web comic artist obsessed with dick jokes?

Hmm, maybe there's just something about that name that creates weirdos.

Why indeed?

You know, the great philosopher Diogenes of Sinope, perhaps the greatest of the Ancient Greek philosophers, claimed that shame, decency, and basic tastefulness and manners were false attachments that needed to be done away with...

I must hang out in the right crowd. Being flashed does nothing for us anymore.

On the flip side I've also seen my fair share of hippie/nudist/european dick.

It's funny how we Americans make nudity/sex in general such a big deal.
