...Yeah, I don't know where that came from.


EDIT: Okaaay, I just started 20 minutes ago, Steam is saying I have no connection(it's still downloading), 150-160MB already downloaded, and it's 60% done(it's a 2.2GB download). Aside from the fact that I somehow downloaded 150MB in just 20 minutes(I have a slow connection), I just have to say:

I just had a "No Connection" issue a few minutes ago. Maybe try restarting Steam; I think it's an issue with their servers.

Yeah, I was having the 'No connection' issue too, but everything downloaded fine.

The No Connection thing was most likely a busted Valve somewhere. It's downloading and downloading pretty damn fast, 1/3 of it done in two hours(normally, it takes me 3-5 hours for 600MB if I'm lucky).

Ok, so what server are we gonna play on and when?
I can possibly get a business grade server up if needed but it will be in australia.

I was thinking of setting up a server just to mess around on, but they don't have the server files available for download anymore. Meaning I'd need to install Steam on the server, download the game, extract the files from the gcfs to get server files, and ... a bit of a pain. (East Coast, US, 100Mbit line) Unfortunately Australia would be almost unplayable for a lot of east coasters.

Not sure if there's enough interest to warrant that or not.

The distance between me and america would create 300+ ping/latency which is good enough for being commander but not much else really.

I think a lot of players here are American/European which means an East Coast server would be playable for most - unfortunately 1 person who can only play commander is better than all but a couple who can play commander. If you had an aussie server up I'd try, but I think I'd get awful ping.

I don't think it would be worth it if everyone but me got 300 to 400 ping so it would be great if someone else is able to get a server up.

This seems rather interesting, how much people are needed for a proper game though, if we can't get enough of us to play two teams we can always join up and do some pubstomps ^_^

Looks interesting. Only one concern: how big is the general population? Because I tend to download mods and then find maybe three empty servers.

Around on full-server playerbase that plays daily. And I mean the one with 50+ players, so it can be really intense.
