You grab the Zombicidal Tendencies core rulebook, Goggles and Gearheads, and Drama for Llamas. Just for completeness's sake you also bring Fantastiventures 4th Edition, the ubiquitous fantasy RPG that defines the medium.
The GM's house is within walking distance and you head in that direction. On reaching your destination, you look up to see another one of the players, Luke. He's probably around five foot ten inches tall, slightly less in diameter. His bloated face is framed by a greasy bowl-cut and a thicket of neck-pubes. Your first instinct is to run and never stop, but you steel yourself.
"Hey," you raise a hand in greeting.
"Hey, you must be the new guy" he burbles. "What's this you got here?" Without asking, he grabs the books out of your hands and looks through them. "ZT, are you serious? Are we eighth graders? G&G is shit, all combat and no story." He throws them onto the wet lawn. "Drama for Llamas? Is this even an RPG?" Your heart sinks as Luke tosses it into the street. Just in time, a car drives by, running it over.
Finally, he looks at Fantastiventure. "Here we go, now this is a good game. I myself prefer 3rd edition, but you're at least half not a noob. The GM is running Fantastiventure, at least I think he is. He better be..." He gives the book back and you notice a thin film on the surface where he touched it.
Luke heads inside, and you sadly pick up your books. G&G and ZT are okay, but a little wet. Drama for Llamas is a total loss, though. That one's out of print, too.
As you head inside, you wonder what kind of character you'll make.
What kind of character will you make?
