You put it in the mods folder, right?
Try adding the bug fix thats somewhat below the current version.

Applied the fix, still crashing. Unless I have to modify the pre-complied crap, which ended with the game not working for me the last time.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Put the patch in and run the bat file in the big fight for beef mod's folder. That clear out the mod's precompileds so it can make new ones that include the fix next start.

GIRLINHAT CASTS THREAD NECROMANCY!  From the depths arises an ancient thread, renewed with vile, false life.

Game's on sale, $2 until like Jan 2, and is super worth it.  I've got like 115 hours and still want to play.

I'm kinda split, I feel like going 3D isn't necessary and may become a distraction, especially as it seems to play in 2D anyways.  But the 'blowing off bits and pieces' looks REALLY fun.

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed when I heard it was going to be 3d as well.  I have a feeling they will pull it off though.

Playing it right now. Really good game. But I also must agree that I am not a huge fan how spaz 2 will look. Two problems. First one you will need to aim at different parts of ships from third perspective, so it will not be anymore like top down space shooter. The other one is that ships really look bad, a lot of garbage put on them, and not at all like the first game.

My two main complaints about the game are balance issues and the friendly ship AI. The middle-grade beam weapons are almost useless if you try to focus on them, goon cannons aren't worth using, and the bounty hunter ships destroy any semblance of balance in the later acts.

The friendly ships are dumb as dirt. they'll throw themselves at a much stronger enemy in droves, wasting resources for zero gain. You can't have them harvest for you despite an AI setting specifically to do so, so grinding rez from mining bases is tedious for no reason.

Other than that, it's very worth a playthrough and $2 is a bargain.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

They'll collect loose rez, they won't mine.  You can do a lot of income by mining an asteroid base yourself, or letting the station do so, and letting larger cargo vessels you own, go about collecting junk.  Although usually I just hold position (x is it, to stabilize?) in a freighter and just hoover up the base's product.

I only ever played the bawe game. as far as i'm concerned the game eds once you get claking and drones. After that all you have to do is stay cloaked while your drones rampage acrtoss the map sooner or later destroying everything.

The ships you aren't piloting won't stay close enough to a mining base to actually collect anything with tractor beams. As you said, the only way to get rez from what's supposed to be the primary source of it is to stop playing and idle. But you can't idle, because the explosions knock you away. In essence, if you want a surplus of rez you have to stop playing the game and spend a while pressing the "stand still" key. It's not really good design, in my opinion.

Ships do actually have basic commands you can give them from the map screen (F2, I think?), so if you select them and right-click on a spot they'll loiter around there rather than specifically follow you around.  Also, anything with mining lasers (SPECIFICALLY mining lasers) will attack free-floating asteroids to break them up, but they're of course not exactly the best at it.  They do also automatically zoom in on and pick up rez, and will head back to the beacon when they can't hold any more.

Also, ships that can mount a "huge" mining laser will attack the big chunk that the base goes after, splitting off loads of new rocks.

Their combat AI is still absolutely fucking retarded though, and despite my 100+ hours put into it, I...  Don't really like it.  Obscenely, abstractly unforgiving and unbalanced.  But for $2?  Yeh, probably worth a few explosions.

I dont know what version you played, but they will stand near you. And if there is any mineral near they will go and collect it. The thing I do is put my ship near the station so i dont get blown up from those explosions and let Ai collect all. I go afk, and after i come back 10 min later I have full resources. So it work
