Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Well, Thanks to that I bought it, I am too tired to figure out how to play it,
The tutorial is just confusing me right now,
But the story and art is rubbing me alot better then I thought  something called "Space Pirates and Zombies" would.
(My roommate made a comment that the title sounds like they are trying to cash in on the internet.)
I do hope this does well.

I think the title is definitely driving away sales just because of that reason. I knew I was, at first. I'm just hoping the gameplay will have the opposite effect!

Gah this game can be sooooooo frustrating.

I have to get the power thingie for the big laser after getting the lenses and the objective close by (4 gate steps)

But what does the game do? At the 12 level system the gate to the 17 level system is gone.
I tried befriending the Uta to bribe the gate open. But it's not even there.

Now I'm trying to go around. But it's become a big grindfest where I have to rebuild my two level two puny ships constantly even during normal missions at level 28.
And some of the systems the long way around are like 35.

I like the combat though. Except that my ai ships attack what I'm targeting instead of what I'm attacking. Hitting r enough times to target the correct ship is a big hassle in combat. And going to the tactics screen constantly is a big turn off.

actually from what I can tell, that is NOT a bug, it is meant to usher you into the other pathways to that system, which means it is even tougher, and you have to take a bit of a detour around to get to it. In any case it gives you a chance to level up and expand a bit.

Read again. I already knew that.
I'm currently taking the longer route.
It's just hard with only 2 level 2 and 1 level 3 ship.

I have to keep zerging to win anything.

Haha.

I started playing this last night, its pretty fun so far.  I'm a little nervous at the default size of the galaxy though.  How long of a playthrough is this likely to be?

I'm hoping for some content updates.
As much as I enjoy this genre of game, I'm not seeing much in the way of replayability at this time.

"In space noone can hear you scream unless you transmit it on the correct frequency"
It's "In space, no one can hear you scream, unless you're transmitting on the right radio frequencies".

Yeah, the game's full of little quips like that. There's one when attacking a colony station (I think), that goes something like "Wait, stop attacking, I can't find my contact lens!". Or something like that, it's hard to hear these over the sounds of your weapons firing.
