@Sergius
I have confirmed with Steam that we will be able to migrate keys assuming the contracts are signed.

@breadbocks
We will also be selling SPAZ privately through BMT Micro.  We are actually working on the activation system for it right now.

Awesome! One less game tracker to keep... track of.

To be fair tho, eventually I'll want a game that's Steam/Impulse only anyway, I guess I can always set them to not load on boot.

Hi everyone,

This is Blorfy, one half of the SPAZ development team.  Alex just mentioned his post to me and I thought it would be good to say hi.

I would be happy to answer any questions about SPAZ.

Ahh, looks like this is also a quite active other link.  I will monitor that one too then :)

Oooh, nice to see you guys posting here also, I bought the game after checking it out from the previous thread. Anyone somewhat interested in this genre should at least give the demo a go (while keeping in mind the beta has more options.)

Their forums and irc are also very active... Most threads have a mod or "dev" responding to it. The game isn't even finished yet... and it already gave me hours of enjoyment. Give the demo a whirl guys&galls.

:D Goodnews indeed :P

Well, I must say, this game is very addictive and the combat itself is very very nicely done.

Some early missions are just really difficult, but apparently you have to cheat the computer AI somehow to win them.

I started a new game after I got a fair bit of enemies, figured a much better strategy is to befriend both sides and then vulture around them on the Conflict pseudo-missions for black boxes and crew. LOTS of crew. Neither side will mind :)

I've tried this game.

It's much simplier than I expected, but it's quite great as an arcade. And it is very beautiful.

So my opinion is: if you play it for hours, you will be bored of the same missions and actions. However if you don't have a lot of time or don't want to play the same game for hours, it's a great everyday 30 min - 1 hour game. I just take breaks from whatever I do and relax in it :). Totally worth it.

I finished it with the smallest galaxy possible. I must say that it has more replayability than I figured at first. Sometimes it felt a bit of a grind (not too much though) because you need to get more levels and data to up your tech. Grind also happens when you know you're going to lose ships, and need to get crew (oh, the previous crew!...) or rez. I feel that that could be automated somehow - which already happens near the end of the game. But maybe you could invest on buying mining stations, and you'd get rez for "free" after that? Similarly, buying colony and making it recruitment centres. Since it's hard to get all tech to maximum, you'll need to focus. Last time I focused on beams and missiles, and it worked pretty awesome. I'll be doing another playthrough at some point, and focus instead on something else. I'm curious how that will turn out :)

I noticed that you can avoid most of the grind by trading, as some stations have very good exchange ratios. The only problem with that is getting the station to lvl 3 in some cases. It would be cool if you could just spend an amount of rez to upgrade a station, the same way you can pay for relationship with goons, instead of having to wait for the correct mission to show up.

I also wonder if it's a normal behavior: my escort on "defensive" just LOVES to shoot neutral ships which makes it hard to grind a good rep fast. Is there an easy fix for it?

Normally my ships don't attack neutrals.

In fact, as soon as I can have a conflict-rich system with both factions at neutral or better, I love to just hang around and watch 'em beat the crap out of each other and collect the spoils. Not sure about missions tho.

Best way to "farm" reputation is to buy it.
