Slightly on topic (the topic being how insane C+ America is), here's the majority opinion for District of Colombia vs. Heller, which affirms that the 2nd Amendment allows individuals the right to bear arms, with emphasis on an important part of it:

Quote
“It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms. Miller’s holding that the sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time” finds support in the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons.”

In C and C+ societies, all guns carried by civilians are "concealed".

Amusingly, the wiki lists C+ Free Speech laws as including stuff like "swearing being made illegal". That's a reality here in Australia.

Okay so not amusing, horrifying, but whatever. Anyway, I recently got into this game, finally, and I love it to bits.

I never got the point of swearing bans or bleeping. Especially on shows that feature a ton of obscenities like South Park - what's the point of bleeping "fuck" when everyone knows what they're saying and why? Do they still, after hundreds of years, believe that curse words are actually capable of cursing someone?

Just my point of view though. Swearing is much more common and in a way more acceptable in Finland.

I think swearing's only banned in Victoria.

Think of the children!! T.v. probably doesn't want kids to pick curses from easily accessible shows. Parents would go wild. But when the parents do it, it's ok.

A good excuse to ban everything not suitable for ages over 13. Seriously, shows that have things far more obscene than mere swearing don't become any more child-friendly from bleeping. Consider South Park - it has gore, racism, sex offenders and for some odd reason people watching it are not supposed to hear the word "shit". Also, I'm fairly confident that the kids will learn the curses even without the harmful influence of the telly.

Sometimes bleeping curses is funnier. Just check Meet the Demoman to have an idea.

Yeah, I understand it's sometimes done for comic effect, but in the case of South Park, it's (mostly) not.

I believe South Park's censorship is being done for comedic effect. The reason is that when they bleep out the word ***hole, can hear that it's not "***" (the offensive part of the word) that's bleeped out...it's the "hole" part.

Uh, no. The bleeps are (at least in most cases) done by the Comedy Central, not the producers.

Yeah, the DVDs don't have censoring.

And back to South Park, yet on lighter tone - the biggest commercial broadcasting company in Finland, MTV3 (it's an abbreviation not related to the other MTV) actually broadcast South Park as a children's program for a couple of months! It came right after Pokémon or something. The episode It Hits the Fan where they say "shit" about 150 times unbleeped was broadcast during that short-yet-blissful period. I can honestly say I found the scheduling almost as funny as the show itself!

I just realized.
Say we had the laws for death penalty to be immediately carried out by Death Squads, and the laws where animals have human rights.

Say a bear then decides to maul a cow. Death squad shoots the bear. Who committed murder?

And does PETA bitch at the bear, or does it bitch at the Death Squad?

OTOH, LCS is pretty silly at times.
