Sane paranoid insane naive.

Different cop variants that get different inspect results. The cops do not know which variant they are.

Sane gets inspect result as normal.
Paranoid gets a guilty result on everyone.
Insane gets inspect results opposite of normal.
Naive gets an innocent result on everyone.

Third party claims, asks everyone to inspect him. All cops with a town result will then know that they are either naive or sane. What then?

Third party gets nightkilled and loses (or ignored if martyr)?  Scum tries same gambit?

If scum tries gambit, then third party counterclaims then the odds of finding scum go from 2/11 to 1/2.

Third party has a 1/2 chance of being a player that doesn't have to survive to win the gamr, and the best part is they don't even need to claim what their role is, leaving their true role up to wifom. Even in that case, if he is lyncher he could just ask the other players to lynch player x for him as quid quo pro, leaving it basically at a 1/4 chance of that third party not wanting to claim?

Survivor pisses off scum by helping town.
Lyncher needs cooperation to win, and he'd have to be a master of deception to trick people about who his target is.
Martyr needs the scum to kill him to win.
Brother doesn't know the alignment of his brother.

SK doesn't want the attention.
Jester really doesn't want people to know he's a jester... and could be fakeclaiming one of the other alignments to attract a lynch.
Assassin isn't going to get helped by scum if he helps the town.
Mafia-Ally would get lynched.

Also, B12ers have a history of lynching third parties when no other choices arise.
