Seeing as how Lasguns and most of the things in 40k are pretty much indestructible...

Yeah, I'm sure lasguns are supposed to be reliable!

Doesn't mean there wont be some sort of "Exotic radiation" that messes with our systems though. lol :P

Good point. The Las is probably closer to the AK (Reliable, maybe a bit more stopping power) than the M16. And Heavy Stubbers aren't as bad as the M60 by any stretch of the imagination.

No we have to limit civilian casualties if we ever want to use them as slaves once we take over their planet, adn slaughter all the old men, adn women

But what about hearts and minds?

HEY HEY LBJ...

I guess since all the hippies will get caught by the inqusition, we can actually freely devastate the civilian population without remorse. Still, we probably shouldn't. It'll just raise more enemy soldiers against us.

Thats another good point we don't want to alienate the other forces of this planet or we will end up fighting everyone on the planet by ourselves.

(Actually, I believe lasguns are a pretty environmentally friendly weapon, considering they can be recharged by letting the magazine absorb daylight. :D Famously reliable too.)

Carneas grimaced as he heard his squad was to draw out the enemy fire, if there were any in the vicinity. The overall plan was sound, of course.. But he disliked being in a disadvantageous position, even if only for a moment.

"Men, circle the medic. Let no shot hit him." A few of his men glanced begrudgingly at the medic. Carneas took notice. "Would you like to get shot now and get patched up, or shot later after the medic's dead and die, soldier?" He asked pointedly at one of the men. "Sir, I'd like to get shot now, sir!" The man snapped to attention. "Pray to the Emperor you don't get your wish."

1) Good to see the planning is going along well. Still need to here from Lt. Arnam though about final squad deployment, otherwise I may have to help place you guys and HQ has better things to do :P

2) I believe Squad 5 is now a reference to backup that is never going to come.

soldier 1: "Do we really have to go in there alone?"
soldier 2: *snicker* "Don't worry, Squad 5 will have your backs..."

3) Depending on how the planing goes I want to start the first turn tonight, I was thinking something along these lines would be a good turn sheet.

Character name: Until I learn your names better this will help a lot :)
Squad: If applicable
Formation: Column, line, Diamond, box... make up your own!
Stance: March, Patrol, Charge, Combat (See rules for effects)
Action:
- State where you're going and detail the route. The more detail the less chance there is that I misinterpret the orders :)
- If searching for enemy fire specify the area, about 6" in diameter.

RP: Add RP and fluff liberally to taste.

I'm here, sorry was out yesterday with the family. I'll edit this post in a minute to include actions once I get caught up.

edit: Okay, going to lunch in 15 minutes. I'll get the final deployment hashed out. Quick question for anyone who knows... which squad has the mine sweeping equipment? Is it possible that the brass might have been competent and deployed a mine clearing tank with us? That would make this whole operation a lot safer once we get to the 'clear booby-traps and mines' portion of the mission.

Mine sweepers? Tanks? Bah, use your eyes! We're not going through a minefield (probably) just a road where there may have placed a few home-made traps, Nothing a whole platoon of the Imperium's hammer can't handle!

Just be careful where you step ;)

And no exterminatus. Yet...  :P
