sulking thieves
Way to ruin your own argument.

Alternately, I think you would be a nice stand-in for Kurtulmak.

Contrary to what D&D would have you believe, stealing, backstabbing, and living in caves is not generally considered glorius.

I have taunted you.
I have given you the chance to strike first, leaving myself wide open.
I've done everything that I could possibly be considered obligated to by any rules of duel.
I think I have by now quite earned the right...

*Diabolical smile* >:)

... to STRIKE!

So Kurtulmak, he who does not show up to a duel, he who baywatchers feel obliged to take the flag of in faking edits to their own messages, he who now rules nothing since his silly antics got his only board deleted, he who is but a running gag on a forum for an obscure game, he who can not even pretend to embody somehting glorious but instead affiliate with sulking thieves, do you under this torrent of fire by your silence humbly submit to me your eternal superior?

You got 24 hours to respond, or I will consider myself winner by default.

I'm afraid I have been banned from posting, so I'll just have to speak through AoD

You haven't been around long enough, I think. Just signed up in may. Kurtulmak is the charismatic "phantom moderater" who in "legit" terms hasn't been around since 2008 but who knows. In his sig, he mentions Urdlen, a gnome-god.

Ummm.. Montague? No. The player is not Armok. Armok is part of the lore of StA:GoB 1. The player is just a given fortress' overseer.

Nah. 'Armok' comes from a line of code [ARM_OK], meaning it had a limb good enough to swing an axe.

Armok does everything a player does. He destroys and creates worlds on a whim. He interferes with and controls individuals. He has absolute power and he uses it only for the ends of his own bloodthirsty pleasure. What else does that describe?

Its why neither of the developers mention "Armok" except in the title of the game. Its some sort of an inside-joke that has outlived it's relevancy.

Its all what Toady One said in interviews, basically.

And drinking yourself into a stupor, vomiting at the tiniest hint of light, and eating -cat tallow biscuits- is?

In that case the overseer is incorporeal, which may as well make them a god.

Armok is the one constant in all of the generated worlds, the dark overlord who watches over his creations with simultaneous contempt and amusement, his lust for blood driving all conflict and his soul, bereft of mercy and empathy, ensnaring the Dwarven multiverse in an infinite cycle of death and rebirth. And yet, there is another. Even the almighty Armok has his origins. He was, in fact, created by none other than Kurtulmak himself.

And that is because...

Really, everything in this thread has outlived its relevancy.  :P
