Meaning? Where did that become a consideration?
The numeric difference is negligible and meaningless. Calling men a minority is as right as calling 2.99 kg lighter than 3 kg. While you're technically right, it serves no practical purpose in common situations (and face it, we're not twiddling numbers here) and may even mislead people.

As in if people are so dumb that they attribute "men are the minority" to ANYTHING but "There are less men then women" then it is their own fault and we shouldn't have to shift our language just because of political interest.

What is interesting is at just a glance with the name "Are men Oppressed" it could be a very facinating subject about how the double standard affects men or how societies view on men forces them to conform into the model of masculinity.

Or yeah... it is possible this is another one of those "Men have no right to complain about the double standard because it hurts women far more then men" stuff that somehow goes back to the subject that "women should be protected and men should suck it up" standard.

No I just get pissed when I see people like him wanting the whole pie and eat it too; The right to oppress and stigmatize whenever convenient, but the privilege to avoid the natural consequences of that mindset.
People with that mindset are exactly the kind of people that love the idea of men being a minority. It gives superficial validity to their claims that the male gender is being exterminated by evil women.

Ok now I have to read this whole article.

I don't think you quite understand the article Virex. It is saying that the problem with feminism is that its definitions creates and unfair double standard in which any trouble a woman gets because she is a woman is considered "Oppression" while any trouble a man likewise feels is not.

It seems like a somewhat fair counter arguement to some forms of feminism. That it in essence is widening the gap between men and women instead of the opposite.

Think of it as an article saying: "Why is it ok to be racist to white people?" so to speak.

Except I somehow would think you would have a problem with that too.

Racism, like any form of oppression, is per definition tied to positions of power and men and white people alike hold position of absolute power in our world. It's quite literally impossible to oppress them. Be unkind, perhaps, but not oppress. This is the very fundamental problem that the writer purposefully decided to ignore and in doing so he's showing that he doesn't care about oppression at all. The only way to be blind to that while writing such an apparently well-researched piece is to omit it on purpose.

Here is where your scope sort of becomes a bit too limited.

Men can oppress men. White people can oppress white people.

As well you can't downplay women's role in society either as they are a major contributor to both the job market and culture market.

The Double Standards against men are held by both men and women.

As well even a double standard that works against the majority perpetuates steriotypes and prejudices against the minorities as well.

Also isn't this what this topic is for? The Double Standard against both men and women annoy me a great deal and everyone's blind eye to the fact that it is a "double" standard annoys me even more.

Racism is not a form of oppression, it is a hatred for a group of people based on their race, that include white people. Same with sexism and men.
