Did you ever read about what peta does with dogs at their "shelters"? They are a bunch of self righteous hypocrites. I hate them, I hate their assbrained vegan agitprop, and I hate their bullshit excuses about the skeletons in their closet.

Every time this happens, I have to ask.  Do you not recognize the inherent problem in pointing to a website called "PETA Kills Animals" as an objective argument?

Aqizzar, I picked the first link I googled when looking for the dumpster-and-cat story, which I first read elsewhere (this happened at a trial). I did not look further because Im on a tablet and links are hard to manage as it is (half of the time it fails to copy the selected text, and you stick the past clipboard conttents). I am well aware that the center for consumer freedom are a bunch of crackpots as big as Peta (just look at their claims about obesityh). Again, I only picked them as the first google result.. The bit about Peta killing animals is based on public official documents though. Heck, even the guys at Peta itself admit it!

In fairness to PETA, they honestly believe putting dogs down is a better option than having them stay as pets.

Yeah, I remember that coming up before now. Kinda agree with Aqizzar (there is no u!) though, and that story about the cats sounds just a little too good. A little too detailed as well. But I guess the basics are true.

There really isn't anything suggesting any of the "straight to death" handling in the wiki article, though. All shelters kill a lot of animals. They're no animal hotels. Grown animals are very hard to re-family, and there's only so much room in any shelter. They can't keep them if nobody wants them. And then there's the diseased ones, who has to be put down for obvious reasons.

I can't say for sure, of course, but 85% doesn't sound unreasonably much in my ears, for any shelter. It's sad, but animals are treated like shit in our society. Especially pets.
