I've heard talk that someone is planning to press charges about that pepper-spraying incident. That weirds me out, because the Seattle Police Department, in response to the spraying of an 84 year old woman and 19 year old pregnant woman, stated that pepper spray was just a deterrent, and safe for use on all people from age 10 to 100.

If it weren't, why would we use it?

I wonder if Los Angeles thinks differently, and if so how they could justify using it on protesters who weren't acting like deal-crazed shoppers.

I want a picture of that SPD officer saying that.  It could become another one of those image memes, like Megyn Kelly's "Pepper spray?  It's a food product, essentially."

"Pizza?  It's a vegetable, healthy for all people from age 10 to 100.

If it weren't, why would we eat it?"

Of course, the real way to fix this is the same way we fixed waterboarding's image.

Some moron from Fox News, aka Brilliance of Lemmings Inc., thought it would be a great idea to be waterboarded.
He thought it would be easy. It isn't; he's stupid. Its torture, plain and simple, and we're horrible for doing it while saying it isn't for no reason other than our false sense of security.

We simply pepperspray the shit out of said journalist and laugh as they cry, much as we did with waterboarding guy. Of course, we have to egg them on into saying more stupid shit like "it's just a food product," and then appeal to their inflated egos until they stupidly agree to be pepper sprayed.

Then, how does that phrase go? Ah, yes, apply liberally....

My understanding is pizza's rather healthy besides all the fats and oils from the cheese (and stuck in the bread). I hate deep dish pizzas because they're soggy with oil, ugh.

"Pizza's really healthy except for the pizza part."

If you've seen school lunch pizza, it's basically a brick of oil-soaked bread caked in greasy pseudocheese. Sometimes there are slippery discs of mystery meat on top.

I'm pretty sure my school's food is slowly poisoning me.

I skipped lunch a lot throughout high school... partly because my schedule had me walking to the cafeteria from the farthest reaches of the school, so I would be last in line and have like 5 minutes to eat after getting my food.  So I often didn't even bother.  My senior year, I started getting into M:tG, so I'd get lunch money from my parents and then skip lunch to spend it on cards :P

"Pizza's really healthy except for the pizza part."
More like "except for the cheese part," but since cheese is pretty inextricable from pizza, my point is more or less moot, heh.

I actually have had a couple cheese-less pizzas and they're not bad. They just tend to be dry, due to the lack of oil. Also bland without a lot of toppings.

The rest isn't much better. Having a bunch of bread for lunch isn't the healthiest thing, and pizza is likely to have other fat on top of it as well. I'd say the problem with pizza is that it's overserved and there's a lack of anything served with it. Not that it's the best option, but cheeseless pizza wouldn't be that much better.

Mm... man, now I'm thinking of making some more delicious pizza... a bit of naan bread, some feta and fresh straw mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and a bunch of basil, some roasted red peppers and oh god. Unfortunately, it's still another month before my next flush of mushrooms. :/

I don't care if its healthy or not, pizza is the best food. The best.

If you want to talk unhealthy, though, has anyone here had a chocolate desert pizza?

Yes I have, only one tiny slice. It was a delicious sugary hell, and I felt kind of sick afterwards.

The kind you described doesn't sound terribly unhealthy at all, even if you did put some sauce or a fat source on it.

Making pizza at home is really the best thing ever. It's hard to screw up too much, you get a good chance to be creative, and the results are usually good even if you have no idea what you're doing.

Very relevant video to this and the entire conversation: http://www.theonion.com/video/dominos-scientists-test-limits-of-what-humans-will,14252/

(for those not from the US, Domino's does produce the first few things in the video, including the Oreo pizza)

I worked at Dominos when they were making Oreo pizzas.

Those things were friggin' AWESOME. No one bought them though, heh. They were kinda overpriced.

concerning pizzas:
being italian i must throw myself inside the ring:
first off, it depends on who does it.
pizza in itself is a healthy substitute of a lunch (dinner is the trend, but it's a lunch substitute. NOT add-on. it's a substitute)
it should contain the following: a "pasta" base (carbohydrates), a vegetable base (tomato sauce/fresh tomatoes), salt and oil what needed. and then a topping of something like ham, or (prosciutto crudo? raw ham? it's the other type of ham, the one salty) that's about it.
this is healthy italian pizza

obviously americans must have lost the quantities of the receipt and went with their wicked fatty fantasies...ehhh
"americans"
