You know, shit like this honestly makes me wish I was a lot more religious, for the simple reason that right now, I want for there to be a hell to send these people. It doesn't sit well with me that a man may spend he's lifes work breaking souls and destroying lives, all the while with a smug grin because he thinks he is doing the right thing, then at the end of it all slip into a peaceful eternal rest.
Honestly, death is too good for these people. When a girl is raped and her mother says it was her own fault, but then continues to share this with people who will only use this story to shame her, something is very sick and wrong. This just isn't how people act, it isn't normal or natural, yet somehow it happened!

GAH, RAEG!

Oh what the hell. What is this crap.

I would like to make a short statement: Not all conservatives, Mormons, Christians, etc. etc. are like this. I am ashamed by this sort of thing, and wish that it would not have occurred.

But regardless, I would appreciate it very much if you guys wouldn't generalize this sort of horrible thing to "THOSE TERRIBLE CONSERVATIVE 'MERICANS!" Because while I do try to be as neutral as possible, I have a tendency to lean right due to my upbringing. And I know my parents, certain friends, and various other acquaintances aren't horrible people doing horrible things like these. The people doing this crap are... well... I can't think of a word in English to convey my opinion on these people.

Piles of shit who need to be set on fire and then submerged in water until they pass out, and then hung when they wake up?

Alright, it's not one word, but it'll do.

That's a little.... too harsh...

I'm not going to judge whether or not they deserve to die or how horribly their death should be in case it should occur in a justice-based fashion, but.... this crap is bad. If you're going to try to convince someone to not be a homosexual, regardless of prior circumstance, it should not be by beating the homosexuality out of them and turning them into crying wrecks of human beings in the process. Heck, if you're going to try to convince anyone of anything, it shouldn't be by beating the opposing view out of them and turning them into crying wrecks of human beings in the process.

Oh, and the whole "your rape was your own fault" bit was rageworthy. Yes, there may have been a tiny bit more incentive for that specific person to choose you due to your dress, appearance, whatever.... but it's still the rapist's fault for actually doing it. Not the person who was raped.

On that note, there have been a few protests in Sydney for women's rights, saying that is is not a woman's fault if she is raped. Apparently the entire thing started somewhere in Canada. I think it is deplorable that we even need protests for this! How could anybody think for a second that 'She was asking for it' is justifiable for a crime that is often described as murder of the soul? One of the worst crimes a human can commit, and people blame the victim. It just doesn't make sense at any time, but when the person pointing the finger is the victims own mother, it just goes beyond rage.

I must be some narrow minded zealot, because there are times when I just can not see what goes through these peoples heads. I can understand no underlying justifications beyond the fact that they are monsters who should be locked away from society.

I can't believe this.  That's pretty much all there is to it.  I'm sure it happened, I don't think the person is lying or anything.  It's just, my mind doesn't register cruelty like this as being possible.  People can't be that mean.  There's no reason for it.  These people have to honestly believe that they are somehow helping children become better people through their methods.  how do they think that's ok?  I'm just too shocked to even really be mad, though I know I will be later.  I am angry at her mother though.  The idea that you can blame somebody for being raped just seems incredibly stupid and close minded to me, and that somebody would do that for a person they supposedly care about is heartbreaking.  Parents aren't supposed to do that.

Mostly though, this just makes me incredibly sad.  I like to believe people are basically good.  But I'm sure at least some of these people are purposefully cruel and not just incredibly misguided.  And I have to worry about how many children who went through that program never recovered and actually think that that kind of behavior is the right way to raise their own children now.  Just thinking about that made this even worse.

AND WHAT KIND OF THERAPIST TELLS A GROUP SESSION THAT ONE OF THEIR MEMBERS WAS RAPED?!?!

Sorry, my mind seems to focus on the things that are comprehensible.  2 and a half years of systematic torture is just... no.

I know. It really does feel like hearing about the death of a family member. You know it is possible, and that the person telling you is telling the truth, and you believe it, but you just can not relate it to reality. It is so immoral it has become disjointed from what is understandable.

Why would you tell your own daughter that being raped was her own fault. What deep seeded belief could push a human that far from sanity?

I lean incredibly far to the right - many of you would call me a right-winger - and even I think this is fucked up.

The very act of allowing these people to stand trial would in itself be a grave injustice. They need to just... disappear...

Well I have come to accept that although I support more left views, I know that people on the right wing want the exact same thing that I do, that everybody is safe and happy and in general better off, we just have conflicting views on how to achieve this. But this sort of 'school' isn't making anybodies life better in any way, it is just a destructive force on society.
If somebody said they were for this, because they supported right wing views, I would tell them they should go fuck themselves because they don't understand what right wing views are.

Personally, I think that none of these people should die.

They are depraved. But it doesn't mean dieing is the way, if we kill those who we don't think do good things, then how good are *we*?
Personally, I would find a legal way to get all of these facilitys shut down, and then put the workers in some sort of education program, and if they dont shape up, then its fair to say that should go against them when they are going for other jobs.

You'd probably need to work with all the 'alumni' too.... who knows how frelled they are adjusting to the real world...
