I vote for D: Prefab Space Station.
Also we should look into putting a research colony on Mars near the complex we have gained access to (to allow us to study the machinery there in greater detail).
Also, how exactly does colonisation work? Do we just get someone to make us a Colony Hub and take it to wherever we want to place a colony?

You start by putting a colony hub down. This is the bases of the colony. From there, it depends on where the colony is, what you decided it was for, and choices like the Defense policy I did. Eventually you'll have to choose a government for the colony, once it grows large enough. Like, say, if they want better medicare they'll ask you to get a doctor and medical supplies and take him/her to the colony, and so on. As the colonies get bigger, remember to visit so you can upgrade them!

So if we put a colony on Mars, it can support our away teams on the surface? Also, how long does it take to make Colony Hubs?

You have one ready right now, finished as part of the research. It can take up to a month or more to make a new one though, most of which is finding acceptable personal rather then building it. Yes, it can support local away teams, and even generate some itself. It won't be able to do much till you upgrade it with a lab and such though.

This, but we should first see if any of the away teams have found a better complex during our Earth visit. I don't think we should waste the time waiting if they haven't.

And so you travel back to mars, colony hub in storage and rooms full of people, in a two day trip. Once you arrive, you find that the away teams have located another alien installation, and managed to get into all of the first three, and even do some identification! It seems the first base you broke into was a command base, while the second and third where supply depots for... something you haven't translated yet. Either two different things, three things, or 1 and a half things... you think. Or something. Their should also be a sensor base and a small industry center somewhere, and you think you've found the industry center. So where do you want to put the colony? On one of the bases, or on one of the three sites your survey found? Site 1 has lots of Iron and other metals, Site 2 is on the ice cap and should make a good base for having lots of people, and Site 3 is very defensible, in a valley.

I vote to put the colony at site 1.

Then travel to the asteroid belt for more surveying.

Site 1 would work great for a mining colony, but we can wait on that, and manually bring in ore rocks until we have a second colony hub.
Sites 2 and 3 we can also wait for. A large city with water production facilities for the rest of the planet would be nice, but other things take priority.
The command base would likely be best for a research colony, and we might want to dedicate the colony to using it.

I vote we colonize the probably-industrial base.

And so the colony is landed, and it begins to undergo construction. Soon it will be ready to support more and more bases upon this world, more and more projects... but first, their is a request made of you. A map has been found! And... they even think they know what it means! Maybe. But they think that their are more alien installations in the asteroid belt, in close orbit around the sun, a fair amount of.. something around Neptune, and one strange one off near Pluto. Do you want to investigate one of these or do something else?

Away team supplies are at X/X <- Base now supplies them.

Investigate Asteroid belt
This, but make sure we have plenty of supplies left to make it back to either the colony (Can we get supplies from there?), or Earth.
