Dawn of the Space Age
« on: June 03, 2011, 07:01:33 pm »

The year is 20XX, in the land of Science Fiction Earth. Under the aegis of the United Nations Space Agency, humanity has produced there first major spacecraft. It's Captain? You. Time to take command and take charge of humanities first steps into a greater world.

First, however, I need a few things from you.

What is the ship called?

What is your name?

And what was the first ship?
Did people use the design from North America? The fastest of the lot, armed with twin nuclear torpedo launchers and a point defense laser, and equipped with an extra powerful sensor array, but suffering from a small strategic range?

Did people use the design from Asia? The most armored of the lot, armed with three double laser turrets, and with the largest cargo hold, but suffering from the slowest speed?

Did people use the design from Europe? The most self sufficient of the lot, with the greatest strategic range? Armed with a powerful spinal laser, a rear facing torpedo launcher, and equipped with an experimental magnetic scoop to collect more fuel from gas giants?

Did people use the design from Russia? The cheapest of the lot, and the smallest, armed only with a single laser turret, but really really easy to build? (Hard mode).

The Revolution is the North American Design
The Revolution has 15/15 days worth of supplies on board
The Revolution has 15/15 Command Crew
The Revolution has 20/20 Science Crew
The Revolution has 30/30 Technical Crew
The Revolution has 10/10 Military Crew
The Revolution has 20/20 Nuclear Torpedoes
The Revolution has 1/1 Defense Laser
The Revolution has 2/2 Moth Class Heavy Landers
The Revolution has 4/4 Courage Space Cars

It has a full crew
It is at Earth Orbit

Infantry Weapons are Pistols and Rifles, Which do not work in a vacuum or in some atmospheres.

Defense Policy has been decided, and now things are designed with heavy point defense arrays and lesser arrays of ECM Banks. Sadly, your armor is... quite thin.

Your ship is called HOPE.

Your name is ALEXANDER NAMIC

You choose the NORTH AMERICAN DESIGN.

Looks like were going to have the North American Design. Along with the "Revolution".

But the name remains undecided, with John Davis catching up fast with Alexander Namic.

The Ship name is Revolution, the ship type is North American. If no new name votes are given in the next two hours I will call that as well.

Namić does not look American. I hate a generic name like John Davis but I have to vote for that.

At the end of the voting period I just announced, I take the highest voted thing. So if you can get enough people to vote, European it will be. Ties will be resolved by a dice off.
