This isn't so much a game as it is a player-input driven simulation. The inputs will be in character-generation with the outputs being the story and the results.

The Goddess Voadiana is looking for warriors to help her in a task that will determine the fate of the dimension she protects. Specifically, she wants warriors who are 3.5 compatible. She doesn't care what they believe in, she doesn't care how optimized they are, and she doesn't want players to hinder their minds with meta-thought. She wants characters submitted to her world, and your success as an agent of hers will be bringing her these characters. You won't control them once they are submitted, but they will act based on the history and personality you give them, and you will be shown the results.

They are to be EL 5. They are to use 30,000 gold for equipment. They can be from any book in 3.5 D&D. You can cheat a little bit in their creation if you would like to; I'm certainly going to be cheating a little bit with the people they're fighting against.

Something to bear in mind; they will be participating in a one-shot battle that will go on for some time. This will make classes that can endure longer battles more effective.

The most important part is the personality and character of your character. The mechanics aren't really as important as the concept behind the character. Take inspiration from something you like, or anywhere really, and if you include links to what inspired you I will give the character a homebrewed ability or something that makes it better reflect its source material. A little bit of thought and description of your character will go a long way.

I'd like to start running the simulation of the battle within 24 hours if at all possible, and I will need roughly six characters. I'll keep accepting beyond six, though, and as 24 hours is likely too short, it's probably going to take longer to get the amount of characters I need. I'm just hoping to get enough enthusiasm from people making characters to start.

Here's my submission. Hailing from a world where humans are forbidden by the gods from practicing magic, Jackson Smith is the product of an industrial revolution! A skilled inventor from a city beset on all sides by supernatural horrors, Jackson has decided to take the fight to them, and eventually destroy their masters, the cruel and uncaring gods. He prefers to take out foes from afar with his custom longrifle, but when the fight comes to him, he's more than willing to lay into enemies with steam-powered boarding claws. His "familiar" is a mechanical cat that serves as a spotter for him.
He smokes like a chimney, hits on anything with a pulse and a gender, and drinks like a fish, but it's mostly a mask for his driven and borderline autistic focus on becoming powerful enough to kill a pantheon.

Someone else has heard of the DragonMech campaign setting? My day has been made. :)

I mostly use it for the steam powers and mech rules. Give it up for post-apocalyptic scavenging!

Bumping this for great justice. My finals are over, and I have way more than enough time to run this.

@ Barbarossa: Definitely accepted!

Gonna keep waiting for more characters to come in, but I've been working on getting most of what I need for the simulation built up.

Can I submit more than one if not enough people show? I have tons of characters lying around.

Sometimes people like to know what they are getting into:

The simulation will depict the battle.

Yes, I just made a fighter with a negative total physical stats modifier. It works, too.

Ah. I remember when you tried to make that guy work at level one.

Fun(ny) times.

Edit: Also where are you getting the +10 attack bonus on your warforged? I only count eight.

If this was a play-by-post, I'd be interested in reading it, and if this was a game without logs of any sort, well then I'm just plain out of luck on that front.

Anyhow, he's accepted, first post and title updated. :3

There are no logs, but suffice to say the only enemy he ever got a chance to use his real abilities on was my PC. And I diced him 4 out of five times or something to that effect.

The build is solid, but you just can not afford it at first level.

+3 strength, +5 from BAB, +1 enhancement, +1 from serrated. Also, updating Orrdus with a horse and such. Forgot that part.
