Well, I guess mantis it is.  That'll save us some time later.  For now transform yourself into a female elf in order to play the part of a druid.  They wanted a show of power so, so a transformation to boost our speed should suffice.  Find a low cost temporary spell that transforms us into an animal.  I think a wolf will suffice for our purposes.  Gather any components necessary, then cast the spell and make your way to the estate.  With any luck we will arrive at the same time as Stanton.

(Got bored of waiting on more actions, so I decided to just write up the ritual and a few other things. Also I'm am writing on a public computer whose browers dosn't offer me the squiggly red underlines of proper spelling, so expect my spelling to be worse than usual)

Celeste:

The spirits debate using simple and clear language. Before long they conclude that your familar should be a gaint Mantis. You thank them for their help and thank Agurtha for hers. "Now then. I'm off to secure for us an offering of livestock. Wish me luck."

The crone shakes her head and smiles as you ride off. "Don't get yourself hurt... too badly."

After several hours of riding you arrive at the gates of the manor. Stanton is already there, talking with one of the guards. You assume the form of an Elf before aproaching any closer.

"Greetings Stanton my child. Is this fair fellow one of the guards of house Vidal?"

Stanton opens his mouth to speak but the guard cuts him off. "Yes I am. My lord has instructed me to wittness a demostration of your power before escorting you inside."

You hop off your horse and rip some grass out of the ground. "I will show you a simple yet dramatic spell that we Durids use to gain substanace when no proper food is avaible. Watch carefully mortal."
You shove the grass into your mouth and begin to chew. You then pull out your short blade and knick your gums so you bleed onto the grass in your mouth. With your mouth full, you attempt to chant the incantation of the wild beasts.

"I exault the glorish of nomchure with the roar of a wild beasht!"

You butcher the incantation on account of your chewing, but the magical forces of nature understand you none the less. Your body warps and twist and within 30 seconds you have assumed the shape of a goat. You graze for several minutes while the guard looks on in awe before reverting back to you elven state.

"Most impressive!" The guard exclaims "Let me show you in and introduce you to the lord and his family. The supplies you have asked for have been prepared."

You and Stanton are lead onto the estate grounds, through the gorgeous mannor, and into a courtyard. In the courtyard you see a man in his fourties and a young lady in her teens.

You notice right away the lady is in terrible shape. She is skinny as a rail and wrinkled. Half of hair has fallen out, and much of what is left has turned gray. "I'm guessing my lord, that the miserable creature before me is your ailing daughter."

The man nods. "And I am guessing, druid, that you are here to fix her. On the table before you is everything that you have asked for. The tub is underneath it. Please hurry. I want to see my daughter whole again."

You aproach the table and begin to pour honey and spring water into the challice set out for you. "I am offering immortality, not a cure for her illness. You will have to wait for your daughters ailment to take it's course. As soon as she dies her body will restore completely. Her appearence, goals, and personality will become a bit more in tune with nature, but she will remember who she is... and who you are."

The lord shakes his head and frowns as you begin to tear up moss and add it to the cup. "I'm affraid then that I will have to withold your payment of cattle until that happens."

You mix the concoction with a spoon that the house so kindly provided. "You could of course end her suffering by force as soon as the ritual is complete. The girl dosn't deserve to spend any more time dying than she already has. Disrobe her now so I can get started."

The lord nods to his guards who quickly begin removing the girl's garments. Once she is naked you aproach her and try to get her to drink from the potion you concocted. She is too weak to hold the challice so you call for Stanton to assist her by holding the container to the ailing maiden's mouth.

You lay your hands on the noble woman's midsection and chant as she drinks.

"I exault the glory of nature with the roar of a wild beast!
I exault the glory of nature with the roar of a wild beast!
I exault the glory of nature with the roar of a wild beast!
May nature deem sacred all mortal life!
May nature deem sacred all mortal life!"


You rise and pull the tub out from under the table. You then turn to the lord "The next part of the spell will take me hours to prepare. Lie your daughter on the grass and let her body comune with the earth in the meantime."
You pour the horse's blood and drop the soap in the tub and call for it to be filled with water. Stanton, Lord Vidal, and his guards spend 30 minutes running back and fourth with buckets until the tub is full. While the mortals work you eat one of the meal prepared for you and then stand over the tub and begin to recite.

"May all magic and life be as one under nature's rule!
May all magic and life be as one under nature's rule!
May all magic and life be as one under nature's rule..."


You recite the incantation almost nonstop for three hours, pausing only breifly to take water. Once you are sure the tub is ready you eat the second meal before continuing. "Stanton, wash the girl's hair in the tub while I recite..."

The half orc carries the lord's daughter to the tub and gingerly dunks the back of her head into the soapy concoction. You recite some more incantations while your lover works.

"I exault the glory of nature with the roar of a wild beast!

I exault the glory of nature with the roar of a wild beast!
We present swear alliegence to the powers of earth, air, fire, and water!
We present swear alliegence to the powers of earth, air, fire, and water!"


You stand up and smile. "The spell is done my lord. Your daughter shall live forever more!"

The human nods and four of his guards draw their spears and point them at you and Stanton. "Well then." the lord muses. "I should be able to safely end her suffering then. If what you tell me is true my daughter will live and you will be rewarded greatly; however if you are lying you will join my sweet little girl in death."

The lord motions and a servent brings him his crossbow. He then aproaches his daughter, kisses her on the forehead, and puts a bolt into her brain at point blank range. Sudenly the girl's body begins to thrash and flail wildly while glowing various shades of blue and green.

Her body becomes healthy as she gains a toned and muscular build over a matter of seconds. The toes on her feat fuse together and blacken into hooves. The hair on her head falls out, and a black mane erupts from her scalp and works it's way down her back. The girl's face begins to warp and lengthens slightly. Suddenly the glowing stops and she rises to her newly hooved feet.

"Daddy!" She exclaims as she embraces her father. A huge smile erupts across the Lord's face. "Bethany, your alive! Guards lower your spears. This druid is my new personal hero."

After about 30 minutes of celebrating Lord Vidal and Bethany pull you aside. You advise them on where to find proper druidic instructors and textbooks. You instruct Lord Vidal to hold onto the the cattle for a few days, and that either you or one of the hags to which you owe cattle will come around to pick them up. As you make your way to the gate the lord calls out to you, explaining that he may have more work and rewards for you if you return to his mannor at some point in the future.

You and Stanton mount your horses and begin to ride home.

Koral:

You lie down on the hard floor of your cave for a good long nap. You dream of slaying an entire army by calling down a mighty wave of fire from the sky!

You awaken and check on your new allies to find the the scouts have returned... and that all the Orcs and Kobolds are armed.

"We found the mass grave where the Dwarves burried an entire Orcish Army." The larger half of the scouting team explains. "I figured my dead brothers would not mind if I defiled their burial grounds to borrow weapons to use against those who killed them. As for the fortress itself the Kobold tells me that the humans are indeed visiting, and will likely be around for another half month. To ensure that their guests can move about safely the dwarves have disarmed the traps in their entrance hall. To defend themselves in the meantime they have set up a balista at the end of the hall. The little one tells me that the Balista is unmanned for about 5 minutes everytime the opperators change shifts."

You take in the information and nod while quietly curseing the fact that the expendable ones managed to get weapons.

You force feed a cows heart to both of your souless victims to keep their bodies healthy until you need them. You then drop onto your matress for a good long nap...

Research a spell to raise the army of orcs that Koral found buried right outside the Dwarven Halls.

Hey, somone shuld try to reserch what more exactly goes into the size requirement on cattle for the offering... Specificaly, could magicaly enlarged cattle give better results, and if so wich kinds of magic would allow that.

Very good, I was wondering if we could get Agurtha in on the raid.

"The minions having weaponry will not be a considerable problem. My fellow spirits may be guiding the coven's crone to aid us with her necromancy. Focus on the task at hand. Our greatest worry was the entrance traps but those have been disabled for the human traders. That Ballista's removal was already in our plans; rendering the machine useless depends on whether we can close off that hallway with either mining or spell before its new operator arrives. Their bolts are powerful, but they cannot penetrate layers of stone."

Old spellbooks, like by book of unity have this bad habit of being incredibly vague. I have no doubt that we could find a way to make the cowers bigger, however my general philosophy is that screwing with a spell of this magnitude and importance is a rather poor idea spirit.

"I don't see why not. However the more bugs I get the bigger my familiar will be. That said I could just mix Stanton with some common bugs I rustle up around the city... Or perhaps only one corpse worth of bugs will produce enough to make a familiar of an ideal size..."

Well, in any occasion, we now have cattle, so they will prove useful in the patron summoning spell. I dont think we will want Jessica as part of the swarm, we can simply just get normal bugs.
