Can i just convert the waste land into a borehole? Seems insane to spend 100k for -20k in income if i can bypass the unusable land factor by digging a hole in it instead.

also i have a tech proposal for you, PM'ing it...

And if i can have said tech, i'll leave our lands as that are Sheb - provided everyone wants to play nice...cause its going to be a rediculously AWESOME megaproject

A borehole is a man-made feature. It cannot replace a natural feature.

Seems insane to spend 100k for -20k in income.

That's why it's a wasteland. It's supposed to be inconvenient (or at least without better tech).

Im just referring to the logic of it, technically it is a tech researched that could bypass that inconvenience. If theres a large area of useless land, why would i destroy a perfectly good section of land? But meh, w/e...i'll scrub em as needed either way, then build more holes

55k to turn -5 into +10 isn't terrible

Well, I'm kinda disappointed that my good old Osiris didn't alert me first.

Anyway, if we're to fight some space invaders, we need better tech. Terenos, CG, I don't trust you at all, I'm still half-thinking you're just making this up to betray me again. But I'm still willing to cooperate, mostly because I'm sick right now and cannot be bothered to write up the large, extensive troops movements orders.

Anyway, we need a way to fight in space. I got lasers, you get missiles tech... Should we cooperate to put together some kind of space weapons platform?

Terenos is the only one here that already has orbital tech

And FYI: I have lasers too

Well, I'm sure even mighty Terenos could do with a few hundred thousands poured in space-tech. We at best got Orbital Tech, if aliens are attacking us they've got much better.

Yep, theres every possibility I'm lying outright about this. But if theres external explosions on the Pwenet..Its most likely an attack. And thats the information I have.

If anyones attacking us, odds are good they have way better tech than us. So i'm proposing we all decide on some avenues of advancement that will buff us up. I've already earmarked funds to send a squad to the Pwenet to discover whats going on. In the event its nothing, you've all gained a turn where I'm not doing ridiculous amounts of production. If we can all agree, my budget is going almost entirely to research.

Things we're going to need, better weapons/defense tech, I can understand if no one wants me to go in that direction. We likely also need some kind of surface to space weapons platform.
I'd feel safe with some kind of orbital observatory, but launching stuff into orbit might be dangerous right now. I'm still going to do it though.
Lets get creative, and lets try not to build anything offensive that can be used against each other.

Im willing to pour research into a virus that only effects certain strands of DNA, if they are aliens then I assume we can make one that only effects non-human DNA. If they're human then I suppose we could still do the same, but we'd need to research vaccines.

I'm..Not comfortable with that. I want us to work together, you having a weapon that can be turned on us causes tension.

In addition, I suggest that the remaining locations on the world are colonized, to give us the full planetary income. I'll be taking those 3 islands near me
(8 9 10,) But thats it. If Soyuz and Seportia want the other.. 7, they can have them.

Sheb, you might want to check with your boy. He seems to have missed our discussion. Any arms build up on any side will force both Terenos and myself to amend our turns to include the same. We're both in research mode. My turn shows as much. If he wants to create a sizable gen 4 army, I can go with plan B myself and skip my research. I don't need a core tap if we're all dead...

You kidding me? Agh. I'll put them on hold then.

May I at least recruit a general?

EDIT: There, less army. Except for a General. If a man that simply yells orders counts as arms build up, or researching exactly what Terenos research does, though...

I'll just say this, I'm comfortable with a certain amount of arms build up. ~$300,000, in Gen 4 troops is a little uncomfortable.
However I'm not seeing many other ways you can contribute Phantom. Given your limited budget, and possession of Gen 4,  I think the best move is for you to build up your army. They're probably leagues ahead of us in weapons/def tech, But having at least a few gen 4 troops will be better than nothing. I will however be creating a small number of troops to match your buildup. Probably just filling my Conscription.

We'll need to start dropping a lot into research. Anyone can contribute. Techs I think are wasted, in the event of an invasion by outside forces? Counter-Espionage definitely. Education because the return on investment is low. Most of the other ranked techs are worthwhile to an extent. Anything named is probably worthwhile.
As for myself, I plan to drop a large amount into Defensive research, a few orbital designs. And some other things. Depends largely on discussion. We need to decide on the best way to meet this potential threat. I'll even give up the pure Defensive research if it makes anyone nervous.

Oh I imagine they have objections. Or not, but they're just chatting amongst themselves till they decide on the best course of action.
Must say, USEC's take on RRT looks way better than I hoped for. Yeehaw.

I would like to see Sheb and BD's turns though. Cmon. Games nearly done.
