War is always lamentable. But I refuse to simply roll over and give up to a random 'superweapon'

Fair terms BD? I wont attack you, and when the time comes you'll have a full place in the world government if you wish it. As will the New Roman Empire and the Tri'Nalians. Even the Ligorians and the Canuckians. And the USSE and the Soyuz, and the Kingdom of the Free People.
I will not erase their culture, like Sheb is planning. I will not force anyone to join me if they don't want to. Unless they fight me.

I required your surrender because you had classified tech. Now that it isn't classified, I've seen it, I'm not afraid. Your assistance is not required. Do not research anything that could backfire horribly and kill us all.

You didnt really 'merge' Tari, you gave up - there's a difference

Adwarf lost because he was siding with Sheb, and was stupid enough to never build any army at all with everyone knowing he was on Sheb's side

Its not really that heated Phantom. Someone threatened to end the world instead of unite it

The problem here is that either A) we all merge happily ever after or B) we do and BD fires his weapon anyway

Which is more likely given Phantom's and Sheb's insistance on BD using his weapon?

Did you get to the things I mentioned back a page or two? Missing data on economy for all of us, my tech and shebs liningup? Sheb missing a few techs you said he got..

Our tech lines up, at level 4 signalling. But has different names. Hence the confusion.

Due to some rather..disturbing news I have recently received, I would ask the world stand down.
What news you may ask? If I told you, you'd probably say that I'm making this up to save myself. Suffice it to say, it concerns us all.

So we should stand down, while I investigate it. No more build up. Nothing hostile, people.

We'll think your making it up regardless, so do share.

"Greetings, this is Osiris-1 speaking. The inhabitants of the ESS Pwenet are indisposed right now. My knowledge of their current situation is understandably small, as they have cut me off from most of the ship's systems. From what I can tell, they are having a little... internal dispute. Several sections of the ship have lost pressure, due to explosive charges ripping open sections of the hull. I know not what sections of the ship still have a breathable atmosphere, but I estimate that at maximum 65 percent of the ship might still have one. Including slow leakage and the opening of toxic gases, that number can be as low as 15 percent. As your humble servant, I would be glad to supply any other information that you may ask."

When asked regarding the location of the explosions, internal or external..
"Analyzing the footage, I cannot say whether the explosions were internal or external with any certainty. However, I am almost certain that the explosions were external. The amount of explosives carried on the ESS Pwenet, when the explosives carried to the  planet are subtracted, would not be enough to create the number and magnitude of explosions I have observed."

From this I conclude that the Pwenet is being attacked. I am thusly going to investigate. Our petty conflicts just became less important. But if you all continue to build up in ways that are obviously against me, then I will be forced to reply in kind.

Having already seen the news, my turn is being rewritten - It will contain no build up and no military research. Virtually my entire budget will be going toward scrubs of wasteland features and then research. I will however as a matter of principle be finishing the seizure of the rest of the southern half of our continent - this is give me exactly what i always wanted from an alliance with Sheb to begin with but would never give me: Equal footing. 97 + islands, then i'm done. We're even and can act like adults. I won't even give 2 craps at that point about your Econ research being better.

Of which: What is the cost of wasteland scrubbery?

External explosions mean that someone is firing on the Pwnet. If it were human, it wouldn't be firing.

I was going to have you research a tech  for removing wasteland, but I figure that you probably have the technology to eliminate wastelands already, so meh. It's not cheap though, $25,000 per wasteland. That cost goes towards the planting of hardy pioneer species, the removal of any toxins etc.

External explosions mean that someone is firing on the Pwenet. If it were human, it wouldn't be firing.

How does firing at the Pwenet stop them from being human?

Well, assumedly the USSE would be the ones approaching. And as they're a USSE vessel.. Probably no reason to fire on each other.
Course im making assumptions.
