Freeze you stupid pond!

Temperature: "It's cold."

The sun has set.

I have a bronze colossus, stuck in a pool, preparing it to be encased in ice.

And now the water won't freeze. Freezing water kills me all the time, why won't it kill the bronze colossus already?

Anyone had similarly brilliant plans broken by similarly stupid problems?

Water doesn't freeze until the temperature gets to "freezing" (duh).
