WHat is there to do on the server and do I have to get all of my materials from my singleplayer world?

Terraria: You find an empty place, then build. Anything in your inventory gets carried over, as per usual Terraria rules.

Minecraft: Same as above, except that the main main town is far to the north (or somewhere), and nothing gets carried over. Only Kael can give you stuff, should you happen to meet him in the server. Even then, there's a currency system, so you might not get a lot of stuff there (aside from public donation chests.).

Just curious: what DO you use as money? or is it all just bartering and hornswoggling?

It's part of the Essentials Suite; use /sell hand while holding a gold ingot ($100) or gold block (900$) to sell it. It's held in your account which can be seen using /balance. AFAIK, those are the only two items that can be sold for money.

Currently it's use is limited. AFAIK there are two infinite shops that use money; compared to more extensive systems in some servers such as N@W. Though some players do set trade signs that use cash instead of straight-up bartering.

As long as it isn't something in Hardmode, and I think both the dungeon and hell have been more or less cleaned out.

Yeah, pretty cleaned out. I even took all the wiring and light fixtures out of the dungeon and everything.

You probably won't have much luck with ores, either, if you're just starting out, as pretty much everything near the surface has been mined out, AFAIK. You'd probably do better to play SP for a while, get some decent metal gear, and then come over. You particularly might want to get a grappling hook, since you were having trouble with the terrain. I have a ton of grapples and dual hooks laying around if you want one.

Say Kael, would you be averse to setting up some enchantment signs? I've got several thousand $$$ plus a fortune in gold bullion but not much to spend it on.

Of course, the higher end enchantments such as silk touch and fortune should either not be available or cost a lot (read: obscene) amount of money.

Okay I accidentally got the merchant killed by Prime because I fell off the boss platform, so he's not under spawn anymore.

Also, there's large golden donation house where there's a lot of things to browse and take.

Also, the chest flanked by clocks on my golden airship above spawn still has quite a few gifts in it.


The village is right of spawn, in midair. Just past the tower with the big wooden ball on top is a small space elevator similar to the BS12 one; go up that, and you'll be there.

Well i stashed a good bit of iron in the LOFACE LOBASE way down the hellevator at spawn, but it might not be super easy to get there without some mobility stuff. Or rather, getting there is easy, getting back is hard. In fact, i think i'll move that iron to a more accessible place, like the surface.
