So I finally ground up level 50 on Kael's MC and...

It doesn't have Silk Touch so it sucks.
Really though, nice. What does fortune do? Chance of getting more stuff?

Yeah, it is very handy. Here is what the wiki says:

Only applies to item drops such as coal, diamond, redstone, glowstone, lapis lazuli and nether wart. When used on Wheat, only the Seeds' drop rate is affected. When used on a Melon Block, the drop rate of melon slices are increased. Increases the chance for Gravel to drop Flint instead of itself, up to 100% at III. It doesn't affect clay ball drop rates (it is always 4).

The kicker was that it only cost 30 levels  . The hunter's guild enchanting table can't seem to go any higher than 35.

Fortune II gives a 25% chance of a doubled drop, and another 25% chance of a tripled drop.

Whether these can work in concert for a 6x drop is unknown, but they probably won't.

Wiki seems to think so (II: 25% * 2, 25% * 3 (75% more)). The guild enchant table if it has max bookshelves should go up to 50 so either you where unlucky rolling enchants or the guild needs more bookshelves around its table.

Edit: Also I don't know how I like the efficiency on it. That enchant just makes diamond picks mine to fast and even with the unbreaking its never good to waste uses for something that can get you three diamonds a block on something like cobblestone.

Solution: carry a regular plain ol' iron pick for everything else, and then take out the diamond one for nice things.
Or you could just carry a lot of stone ones and store your diamond pick somewhere and never use it ever.

I mean that you can be mining a diamond block and finish and still be holding the mouse button and accidentally mine a couple regular blocks. More of a pet peeve with me then anything else really. Honestly at unbreaking III your set for quite a while even if you use it to mine everything you come across.

Oh, yeah, that. That sucks, wasting uses like you said. Too bad repairing removes enchants.
