I could say that approximately 17 - 26% of the land was looted. So yeah, there are still some stuff that isn't claimed.

Yar, I can assure that most of underground jungle, hell and caves under oceans are mostly looted.

And anything 'close' to hellevators and mushroom farms. The rest of caves is pretty much intact.

I'd recommend you ask for the pass now, so you can have instant access to the server once your Terraria-fu is strong.

Is it just Terraria that's password-locked, or is it the same pwd for Terraria, TS, etc? Or multiple pwds for different things?

I'm not too sure. You could try the passwords you know, and see if you can enter the server.

Why? What's wrong with your Terraria?

I haven't been able to connect to servers for weeks; my game is updated to the current version and there haven't been any changes to my firewall or network settings, but whenever I try to connect to, say, this one, it will appear to work and come up with a screen saying "found server", but will never actually connect me. Occasionally I manage to get to the screen where I can enter the pw, to the same lack of result. I've tried letting the game idle on that screen for close to an hour without anything happening. At this point, it really isn't worth the trouble to bother with it any more.

The western ocean now... doesn't exist anymore. I thought it was very apropos with the server being the Dwarf Fortress Community's Terraria server (after all, draining the ocean is a very popular megaproject in DF), but apparently some people have something against that?
Problem is, I thought that water at the edges respawns infinitely. Well, it doesn't. It is now impossible to fix for me and I'm sorry if that bothers anyone, but I seriously thought it would have been easy to fix.
I know that mods can spawn huge amounts of water at will, so that would, I think, be the only possible way to bring back the ocean.

Unless I'm overthinking it and noone is really bothered by that since the Eastern ocean has a vessel for shark fishing and is just as good as the Western ocean.
