No lava buckets. The Server didn't know the difference is my guessing, it would say, oh a liquid just been placed, must be lava. Remove...

Water and lava have totally separate IDs

Running water and lava chew up server resources a stupid amount, not to mention grief potential.

Let's put it this way, the creative server constantly, consistently ate 6 gigs of RAM (granted we had lava and waterfalls everywhere). A lesser machine wouldn't have been able to handle it. Not to mention the TNT worldedit/creative mishap that actually crashed the server and ruined the map, rendering it unplayable (thank goodness for backups)

That's why there was a ban on those. The bucket usage ban is reversed, for now.

I needed to use buckets of lava to make the lighthouse lamp.  Now it can finally be finished!
Also:  The new library is in the lighthouse.  Please hold your books until a few floors are finished.

I am happy that we will be able to use buckets again but then I realized I had already done everything I would want to with water and magma.

So I sailed accross the massive ocean, and found the city. But I didn't know that sleeping didn't set the spawn, so when I died I respawned in steelport.

Is there a faster way to get back? Or do I brave the ocean once again?

Use /sethome and /home.

The Steelport nether portal in the basement of the church has a netherbridge to Northfar. Otherwise you can wait for a mod and ask them to port you.

What happens if I enter this server if I have my mods active? Will I be glitched? Or will I be booted out?

Most mods won't affect servers, so it should be fine.
