dfprospector only counts revealed tiles by default. Try either revealing the entire map and then running prospector (leave the game paused while you do this!) or running it with the all-tiles option.

Ye know, being an usurper overseer gone mad with power isn't too bad. It's honestly not that different from being a normal overseer.

Thanks for the tip, Ghills! Unfortunately, that only served to confirm that I have absolutely no metal on the map. Plenty of gems, though, including several Star Rubies and Star Sapphires.

For future reference, 'dfprospector -a' will tell you everything about the map without having to manually reveal.
