I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Work on your tunnels has all but stopped. The heat is a constant work hazard; Our workers must be equipped with special suits to merely work an hour in the depths of the tunnel. Daily wear on our equipment is much higher than expected. Regular, plastic-coating wires would eventually create an electrical hazard in the heat; We've have to design and manufacture safer versions. With our current level of technology we can't go much further...
We must look upon this violation of the crease fire as a blessing and a challenge. The USSE must divide its attentions between fighting here and supporting its allies overseas. Our forces are larger and concentrated, while theirs are smaller and spread out. We should be able to crush the USSE without threatening our sovereignty by calling in the New Unity. By annexing the USSE's lands we eliminate a canker on the face of the planet. A weakness that would sap our efforts when the aliens arrive. I can only hope that they arrive after we win...
All of the designs we received so far have been sub-par. The few bunker blueprints that were actually good have been lost in the USSE occupation of Scardon. Our ideas for missile defences have been lost as well, but the Unity has given us theirs.
