[1]: Darvi does a very very fast fist-bump, punching several people into nearby trees.

(1) You spend three hours watching the fist bump. You are saddened greatly by the lack of epic. Mood -3.

There is a very stiff breeze. It begins to rain. The rain is very cold. It warms up to about 50F. As it begins to rain, a shivering man in a military uniform drags himself into the clearing, and passes out. He has minor cuts on his arms and face. You recognize him from the gathering.

The generic seriously injured soldier opens one eye and looks at Darvi settling down for a nap.

"Really man? Fuck you."

[/b]Help chooie however I can. Let the man rest in the shelter when we're done. Give him a kebab it he's well enough to eat. Take one for myself too. Make sure the fire does not go out. Wait for Soldierguy to recover and/or tell his story.[/b]

We now know that there are elk on the island as well, but I guess there was cause to think so before. I had also had in mind to go on a long explorationary trip in the morning seeing as how we had a pretty good set-up now. I hope this guy doesn't ruin it for me.

Also, Max , you've forgotten to add the stuff I found to the equipment list. Furthermore, when you say "recognise him from the gathering" do you mean as one of the gatherees or the guys that took us away? And, I forgot to ask earlier - the barbed wire thing, "finger loops" means it looks like brasswired knuckles, right? Just asking so my plan to punch the bears with them isn't foiled by misunderstandings, should we ever need to defend ourselves from them.

I drag anything likely to be ruined by the rain into the lean-to, then start weaving one of our patches of fibrous materials into another string. Strings are useful.

Help drag our loot into the dry. Take some extra deer bone and see about sharpening up a rough arrow point and/or needle.

hey, jessica, sinew needs to be worked a bit before it can be woven, it needs to dry first

i show the yew sapling to the others and tell them it's a good wood for bows, that they should fell and bring them back, or at least take note of the place they sight them. i also ask them to bring back any hare and elk scat they find, to make pitch glue
using my recently acquired bone working skills i give sonerohi some pointers, and sit besides him tillering the sapling into a bow:
i split the yew sapling in two, trying to preserve at least one of the halves, then start to thin out the ends, working on the inner wood as the belly of the bow, and leaving the outer bark untouched as the back of the bow.

Good thing this isn't the Sinew, then. This is the stuff from the tree, that I made one of our fishing lines out of.
